Letters to God (2010)

For some reason this is playing where I live. I went to the early bird bargain matinee, and I was glad I didn't pay more to see this dreck. It should have gone straight to DVD or TBN; it's not much better than a TV movie. Not much to the script, not much in the acting, not much anywhere. Bottom line, unless you are a born-again Christian (or have a burning desire to become one), save your money and skip this one.

Is this like an uber-serious take on Dear God?

Advertising for this was literally every commercial break on radio a few wks ago... doesn't look like that helped much given it's box office. Even though I've only seen Left Behind... I can't stand these kinds of films, they're just not well done or even necessary. I will say that there are Emergent Churches out there that are much more engaged and in tune with music and feature films, rather than trying to offer some kind of alternative...

I had to IMDB here and I don't think I've seen anything she's ever done.

The whole family is in the business. Her brother was "Rusty" in "European Vacation". Her father Ernie is also a major character/bit-part actor and was my ex-gf's acting coach back in the mid 90s. I think the Gossip Girl one probably broke the largest out of the entire clan.

I just checked and this is already gone from the theater where I saw it.. displaced by Death at a Funeral. One week, and poof, gone.
