Re: Tron 3 (D: Kosinski) S: Hedlund
I'm pleased to hear this. Kosinski has grown as a director and I like what he's done. Loved Oblivion.
But, yes, Daft Punk absolutely must return.

They're really, really, really, really pretty though. So pretty. Apparently Kosinski used to be a professor of architecture, he has that super-precise Kubrickian style where everything is locked down and perfectionist and every single item in the film is fetishistically designed.

Re: Tron 3 (D: Kosinski) S: Hedlund
I'd be more excited if this had a different cast and was in the hands of a more capable director. And I thought the movie going public came to a consensus and decided Garrett Hedlund is not a movie star.

Good news. Quorra and Daft Punk have to return. I hope they continue with the Dillinger Jr story and the return of MCP.
I never had a problem with the storyline because I was so wowed by the visuals and music but I would like to see a more complex and SF heavy script. Intelligent science fiction like Ghost In The Shell.

I heard that Dan Shor (Ram) said he was going to be back in this. Hopefully they'll get David Warner and Cindy Morgan as well.

Olivia Wilde Reteams With Garrett Hedlund for 'Tron 3' (Exclusive)
April 07, 2015 59 minutes ago by Borys Kit
Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund are set to return for Disney’s Tron 3.
The pair will reprise their characters from 2010’s Tron: Legacy in the sequel that is being directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Legacy was the sequel to the 1982 sci-fi film that took place inside a computer world known as the Grid and starred Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner. While not a hit at the time, it later drew a big cult following and became an influence on filmmakers and pop culture.
Decades later, Disney revisited the world with Legacy. The story revealed that the computer programmer character played by Bridges had a son (Hedlund) who jumps into the Grid to find his father. Wilde was Quorra, an algorithm made flesh who also happened to kick butt.
Disney has been developing a sequel to Legacy since the movie grossed $400 million worldwide. Hedlund in 2012 said he would return to the visual effects-heavy franchise but that was when the project was circling a 2014 start.
The project is now looking to shoot this fall, likely in Vancouver. Plot details are being kept offline.
Justin Springer will be involved as a producer.
Wilde is coming off starring in the Blumhouse-produced horror movie The Lazarus Effect. She is repped by WME, Untitled and Ziffren Brittenham.
Hedlund just boarded Billy Lynn’s Halftime Walk and will be playing Hook in Pan, Warner Bros.’ retelling of Peter Pan. He is repped WME, Brillstein Entertainment and Sloane Offer.

Oblivion was barely better than Tron: Legacy. They're going to have to really knock it out of the park to make this worthwhile.

I thought it was kind of weird that Tron turned out to be the name of a character barely in the movie. I had wrongly assumed that Tron was the name of the digital world.
I definitely want to see Cillian Murphy return as Dillinger Jr. And as much as I liked Quorra and the way the grid was portrayed, I think the score by Daft Punk is really what made the film. It perfectly matched everything on the screen. They have to return.

That's a problem that's existed since the first movie. Tron has always been a minor character. I never understood why the movies were named after him. The Grid would have made more sense. And when I was a kid, I too assumed Tron was in reference to the digital world. When Tron: Legacy came out, I was surprised to see Tron get even less screentime.

Disney Not Moving Forward With 'Tron 3' (Exclusive)
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...rd-tron-798941
Tron 3 won't be coming to a theater near you.
Disney has chosen not to move forward with a third installment in the sci-fi series, sources say. While sources say the project was never officially greenlit, earlier this year it seemed that things were moving ahead with Tron:Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski returning to direct and stars Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund reprising their roles.
Prep had been started on the third film, and production was looking to shoot this fall, likely in Vancouver, British Columbia. Disney had been interested in adding Jared Leto to the cast, but an offer and negotiations had never commenced.
