Re: Fright Night remake (Gillespe) - News, rumors, cast

I do like what I saw, that Charlie weapons up but it will be interesting to see why and if Tennant goes all the way with the role like McDowell did.

Compare it to the original theatrical trailer, same tone and character traits are brought across, there's not talk about the humor.

Looks like a more straight-forward action horror flick. Of course the next trailer might make it look like a horror comedy. Bigger role for Mom (if the trailer does not lie), who didn't have much to do in the original, IIRC. Interesting that it downplayed Tennant.

Re: Fright Night remake (Gillespe) - News, rumors, cast

I talked to somebody who has seen the script. She says (if it not overly edited out) David has some of the best lines in the movie. Marti Noxon has said that he's ( David as Peter) all over the movie..

Looks good to me. I'll go see it.

At least Collin doesn't sparkle..

At least the original trailer shows Roddy McDowell for more than 0.25 seconds.

I was hoping for more humour but it's nice to see a vampire that seems evil rather than wannabe evil (pretty much every modern vampire villain).

I think they did this trailer to introduce the two main guys.. The good guy and bad guy. Evil ed was barely introduced as was the girlfriend. I think the next one will show the others more..

At least I hope so..

Ok everywhere I look at about this movie says it's from Walt Disney Movie Studios but that trailer says Dreamworks?
And is this gonna be PG-13 or R?

Touchstone (aka Disney) has a distribution deal with Dreamworks. Infact looking at Touchstone's upcoming slate, it doesn't look like they have any in house movies coming out anytime soon.

The director has already confirmed they're going for the R rating.

Re: Fright Night remake (Gillespe) - News, rumors, cast

When I viewed the trailer, and saw that Colin Farrell is playing the vampire, I know for sure, this remake is not going to be near as good as the original, just like the remake of: A Nightmare on Elm Street, and other great classic horror movies. Why don't Hollywood leave well enough alone! The original Fright Night cannot be topped.

I was in love with Chris Sarandon in that role and goodnight, does Farrell do it for me in the trailer. Twilight has some of the uglies vampires I've ever seen and Farrell, he's got the look.

Sorry, I didn't understand your post. You're saying that Farrell looks good to you in this or he reminds you of the fuggly hemophiliacs in Twilight?

I think Iggy's saying Farrell looks good. according to the commas anyway.

Looks decent, but if it gets me a FN '85 Blu-ray, then I'm all good.

Remind me never to post after spending time looking up pictures of an actor on Google images.

Yes. The Twilight vampires, namely Robert Pattinson, make up the most unattractive bunch of vampires since Nosferatu. No, it's actually worse because Nosferatu is supposed to be horrifying by way of looks, they're supposed to be good looking. I don't get it.

Farrell, on the other hand, exudes a charisma that is very appealing. He does it for me as Jerry in the same way that Chris Sarandon did in the original. By nature you're supposed to be scared of this character, but you're drawn to them.

Probably more than you guys cared to know...

Re: Fright Night remake (Gillespe) - News, rumors, cast

Thanks for clearing that up, iggystar. And I agree with you wholeheartedly. Well except for wanting Chris Sarandon or Collin Farrell. I haven't crossed over to the Dark Side.
Spoiler:
Unlike Solid Snake PAC.
But I get what you mean. There's a very masculine magnetism that the Twilight crew fail to exude (even in the slightest).

Yes, masculine magnetism...I like that. There was a brief moment when Colin/Jerry was checking out Charley's girlfriend, that's what I'm talking about, he's just exuding sexy. So unlike sparkly, waifish looking bunch of kids!

The Dark Side...

Re: Fright Night remake (Gillespe) - News, rumors, cast

I fail to see why any of the twilight fanatics consider them Vampires in any way.. I liked the books but I dont consider them Vamps. Their just freaks with a skin condition.

Collin is going full on psycho for his Jerry and I like it.

Don't the the Twilight vamps drink blood? I'd say that qualifies.
