Avatar has now dropped out of the top 10. With the dvd planned for release on April 22, it looks like it may hit $750 million or a little more if it's not pulled after the dvd release.

The fact it's still pulling $2k per screen probably has a few chains kicking themselves for pulling it

I wonder if it'll really be able to squeeze out that $10 million to reach the $750 million mark? Perhaps it'll still stay in 2nd run theaters as well, even with the release of the DVD/BD in late April.

I'm leaning towards this. I remember being excited when I first saw the trailer many months ago. But then I kept seeing it on every. site. I. visited for months on end. It was promotion overkill and it really turned me off on seeing it. I'm going to wait for the DVD.

Weird, I didn't even know there was a lot of online hype for Hot Tub Time Machine at all.

There was an insane amount of hype on TV for HTTM. I think for the past 3 weeks, there was not one day where I didn't see a commercial for the movie multiple times, regardless of the channel I was watching. Seriously, the only time I didn't see an ad was when I was watching a pay cable channel like HBO or Showtime.

Dragon didn't do as well at they thought it was going to do. Many thought it would score at least $60 million over the weekend. I see a big drop next weekend because when Clash opens, how many Reel 3D screens is it going to lose to it.

There really isn't any other kids movies out so Dragon should do fine. I can't see parents taking little kids to Titans.

I don't mind smooth handheld cam. The Mist for example. The shutter effect, I think it's called, is worse than shaky cam. It's weird, strange camera movements during action scenes. I've seen it in movies like Gladiator, Dawn of the Dead and Mr. Brooks. Those movies come to mind right now.
