Ooooh. I was still surprised that Fincher is working steadily now...he had periods where he'd rest but not anymore. Guy's working hard. Yay for him and us.

Holy.

Shit.

I'm not sure how long this will last before being taken down, but this is a cam recording of the Red Band Trailer...

<object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8kOFGI0p6SM&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8kOFGI0p6SM&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></embed></object>

The 'Immigrant Song' cover is by Karen O & Trent Reznor

Looks excellent, glad to see they're not cutting out any of the "bad" stuff

That cover song is horrible.

Trailer looks promising. Good cast.

For a bootleg it looks pretty good...

When is a bootleg not a bootleg?

"The feel bad movie of the Christmas."

I heard Karen-O was working with Reznor and got all interested, then I heard it was to cover a Led Zeppelin song and was disappointed.

Good looking trailer.

Solid trailer, but I didn't care for the cover much. Don't really care for the original much either, though.

That was a great trailer.

I wasn't all that very excited to see the US version of the stories, but after that, I am feeling more interested.

I enjoyed that trailer. Thanks for posting it.
As for the song, I appreciate that they took a song that's been way over-used and tried to make it work by making it their own. I'm curious if it was recorded solely for the trailer or if a full/longer version will end up on the soundtrack.

I'm not a fan of the trailer, but I enjoyed the footage. Still looking forward to this over the Swedish version, which I thought was only average

Thought the trailer was just okay, hated the cover of IS.

Liked the original film and I'm holding out hope that Fincher is going to deliver another gem. Really looking forward to this.

I just saw the Swedish version last night and all I could think of while watching it was I can't wait to see how Fincher handles the material.

I liked the trailer, looks fairly faithful to the original. Interesting IS cover, not sure it's something I'd listen to but at least there's a different vibe than the original one of my fave Zep tunes.

I never thought I'd say it, but that trailer looks solid.

Noomi Rapace will always be Lizbeth!

It's sort of hard to tell from the 2011 trailer, or maybe it's because I'm used to Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth, but Rooney Mara in that role just looked sort of weird.

Agree on both counts. I'm gonna see this film no matter what. And yes, Fincher's "teaser" looks pretty great. Even thought it does look like a scene for scene remake. But I still think it's too soon for one. And yes, Rapace is and will always be Lisbeth.

I've never held onto the belief that there will only be one interpretation of a character that will be the definitive version of the character when she's only been played by one actress on film...I'm open to allow someone else do it and see wtf happens w/ it. It's Fincher...he hasn't failed me yet...let's see what he does.

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009 & 2012 editions)

This has been discussed by a few of us before, but while Noomi played a great character in the Swedish movies, there were a lot of differences between her and Lisbeth from the actual books. As a bigger fan of the books, there's easily plenty of opportunity to have a better on screen Lisbeth.

Also, I like that cover song the more and more I listen to it.

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009 & 2012 editions)

Anybody think that the trailer was "leaked" in this fashion on purpose? The audio and video are both really good and it hasn't been pulled yet. Seems a little too fishy.
