Yeah that does look like a "remastered" Troma DVD.

This film has not been released on DVD, though it's trailer was included on one of the 42nd Street Forever compilations.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot: 'Round Midnight

I'd heard of this movie and had seen the trailer, but hadn't actually seen the film until today. Now you will share my pain.

This is meant to be a translation of a line belonging to the title character.

Let me see if I can explain our first four shots. In the movie, Madeline Kahn and Teri Garr have fallen on hard times. They make a quickie stag film south of the border where both girls play prostitutes and the dog solicits their wares to "Doodles" Weaver. I'll repeat that. The dog. Plays a pimp. The film is a less than rousing success and the girls have to resort to actual prostitution to get by.

Here is one of the "chicas" in question, namely Teri Garr. This is Teri Garr.:

The actress above and the actress playing the other female character referred to in the first shot are both Oscar® nominees.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot: 'Round Midnight

This director Michael Winner is likely to be best known for his work in a long-running movie franchise, having directed three of five Death Wish movies. He had lengthy working partnerships with two distinctive actors Oliver Reed and Charles Bronson with six films each. This movie stands out in his filmography because it's painfully bad.

The dog actually uses the "Do you wanna ---- my seester" line to get "Doodles" Weaver to part with his cash. This scene involves a dog playing a pimp in a silent stag film. This scene. Involves a dog. Playing a pimp. In a silent stag film.

The previous shots are from a movie within the movie. Here's that movie's audience:

Madeline Kahn and Teri Garr can be seen in the projection booth.

The other chica, Madeline Kahn, about to experience a Buster Keaton homage:

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot: 'Round Midnight

One of the actors seen in this shot might be best known for his appearances on a popular sitcom as a father, namely Ron Leibman - seen here with Madeline Kahn - as Rachel's dad on Friends. Teri Garr from the second shot appeared on the same show as a mother.

Leibman plays a Valentino-esque actor who dresses in drag so he can be a part of his own adoring throng of fans.

No, not Trail of the Pink Panther (also not Richard Mulligan); this movie was made in the decade previous.

From this movie's title you could surmise that it was inspired by a performer (or rather a series of still active performers) made famous in movies, radio, and television. Yes, there's still a dog billed as Rin Tin Tin out there.

Here, Madeline Kahn plays a cactus.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot: 'Round Midnight

I think the trivia section for this movie at the IMDB uses the terms "final" and "last" more than for any other film since so many Golden Age stars appear in the movie.

The dog loves Madeline Kahn's character so much that when she marries another, he tries to commit suicide. Many times.
