Steve Martin, Owen Wilson and Jack Black are set to star in The Big Year for David Frankel, about three competitive bird-watchers dealing with struggles in their own lives. The film is based on a book with the same name by Mark Obmascik, adapted for the screen by Howard Franklin.
My goodwill for Black is almost completely gone (he's best in small doses, which no longer seems to happen), but I'd really like to see all three of these guys make a movie I really loved, especially Martin, who I've been hoping to see in a new movie that didn't suck for years now.
The biggest bit of good faith, though, comes from Howard Franklin, who wrote and co-directed Bill Murray's awesome 1990 comedy Quick Change. Of course, his most recent credit is Antitrust, so maybe my faith is misplaced.

I actually kinda liked Antitrust and Quick Change is a classic. That is a very weird mix of comedians, they all have very different styles, hopefully they work well together.
