yeah same, hoping a no to an avatar bp win, its a good flick visually and what not, but a win would be more for the achievement in the effects and what not, and not for the quality of the movie

A little OT, I haven't seen the Blind Side but I am rooting for Sandra Bullock after she went in person to accept her Razzie. It would be hilarious if she won an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year.

^ that's awesome. but, i wonder if she would have done it had the the predictions and buzz in favor of her winning the Oscar not been so loud and thus give her that confidence.

Re: The 82nd Academy Awards --> 2010 Awards Show Discussion.
Any other Cablevision subscribers out there? We're screwed tonight, aren't we? ABC pulled their signal off of Cablevision, just in time for the Oscars. And I'm not about to go digging out a pair of "rabbit ears" to try and get it over-the-air.
(For those under 25, "rabbit ears" is the term we once used for antennas, these long, thin, retractable metal poles that were placed on top of big TV sets, pre-cable and long before flatscreens, in order to pull the signal out of the ether. If your set was badly positioned, you'd have to move the antenna around all over the room to get a good signal.)
Anyone know of a site that posts the winners as they are announced?
Thanks.

Cablevision is a specific company, and most rabbit ears won't work since old ones don't pick up digital/ATSC channels. (Requires the purchase of a $10 new set and a digital converter box if you have an old TV).
On the bright side to that, though, most over the air channels do broadcast in HD now.

CNN headline news might have each award in their news scroll.
Twitter feeds aplenty.
And I'm sure they'll all scroll across my facebook feed as at least one friend will comment on each award.
IMDB announces each award across their twitter and facebook feeds I'm pretty sure.
And at least one thread here will follow the night.

Re: The 82nd Academy Awards --> 2010 Awards Show Discussion.
I chose The Hurt Locker for 5 wins, including Picture. I expect it to win tonight, but I have this little feeling that the Academy is going to end up going with Avatar. Oscar and Guild history are completely against it winning, but this is a $2.5 billion phenomenon. A Director/Picture split would allow them to reward both films. If Avatar wins Editing, I think it'll win Picture. Editing is a key category, just like it is every other year. Assuming Avatar loses Director, Editing is the next biggest award they could give it.
