Got my ticket in IMAX 3D for Saturday the 17th. I canít do Thursday or Friday night especially with getting up at 430am for work. Iím almost guaranteed to fall asleep, especially with the 192 minute run time. I need to be well rested.

When the first Avatar came out we were all in our late 20s and early 30s. In that thread we were probably talking about bringing our dates to the theater and catching the midnight showings.

In the sequel thread itís all talk about not being able to hold our bladders and planning on early showing where we wonít fall asleep.

It just dawned on me that the trailer is at 2.39:1. Are we gonna get a repeat of the last movie where Cameron will suddenly change his mind and release it on home video open matte at 1.78:1?

‘Avatar 2’ Is So Expensive It Must Become the ‘Fourth or Fifth Highest-Grossing Film in History’ Just to Break Even

I'm not a big enough fan of 3D gimmick to know which would be better. I do know for a regular movie, Dolby Cinema is nice.

For this movie, I would opt IMAX. Go big.

The first movie started the downfall of the theater industry and ruined the home video market for a decade. I hope these movies blow up in everyoneís face.

How so? If it ruined the home video market for a decade, how did it become un-ruined?
