I saw Avatar in the theater because of the 3D gimmick. I have not watched it again.

Inception was the second film that became a Blu-ray purchase for me back in the day, but astonishingly I've never re-watched it. In any case, Avatar 2 will definitely be a pre-order day 1 theater watch for me.
I prefer the extended version of Avatar with the beginning of the film taking place on Earth.

I would agree, but he can spread the story out to different worlds besides Pandora and so on. He seems to think he has a great idea for the sequels, and James Cameron tends to be right about those sorts of things, so while I'm not really looking forward to these, I won't count him out, either.

Plenty of people in the business lost their ass betting against him.
If there is ONE guy in Hollywood to bet on, it's him.

I'm enjoying the vast amount of interest in a series from a dozen posters in a movie they only saw once and consider hot trash.

Michael, you miss the entire point...the Purpose of the Internet is to allow people a place to bitch about anything and everything without pissing off their friends and family.

DVDTalk is the minority for many, many things. I liked it as well. The second one will be huge no matter what the naysayers on here try to deny. Visually it is an amazing film even on my home set-up without the 3D.

Re: Avatar 2 (2021, D: Cameron) S: Worthington, Saldana

Cameron believes "Avatar," which celebrates its anniversary Wednesday, will be restored to its place atop the box-office mountain over "Endgame" through an inevitable rerelease, part of a larger plan to rekindle global audience love before the movie's first sequel, planned for release Dec. 17, 2021.

"I think it’s a certainty," says Cameron of "Avatar" eventually passing "Avengers" in theaters. "But let’s give 'Endgame' their moment and let’s celebrate that people are going to the movie theater."

Cameron says he "really enjoyed" the superhero epic and admires the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But he clearly relishes the idea of taking the top spot again.

"I don’t want to sound snarky after I took the high road (by offering congratulations)," he says. "But they beat us by one quarter of a percent. I did the math in my head while driving in this morning. I think accountants call that a rounding error."
https://www.usatoday.com/story/enter...me/2680090001/

From 2013 until now we’ve mostly designed the whole world across four new movies. We’ve written, finished scripts for all four of those films. We’ve cast them, and we’ve [performance] captured movie 2, movie 3, and the first part of movie 4. We’re mostly done with the live action. I’ve got a couple months in New Zealand in spring, so we’re kind of on track with what we set out to do. People don’t really understand the scope and complexity of the process. It’s like making two and a half big animated films. A typical big animated film takes about four years, so, if you do the math on that, we’re kind of right on schedule for December 2021.

Im not really invested in these, but I thought this was interesting. Lang returns for all the sequels.

Re: Avatar 2 (2021, D: Cameron) S: Worthington, Saldana

I have to admit that I thought that Titanic was an awful idea and would turn out to be terrible and boring and then it stayed in theaters for like a year and was pretty awesome. Then I thought the same about Avatar and Cameron proved me to be wrong again. Not having learned my lesson I can't imagine how 4 sequels to this can be at all good.

I really don't see how keeping Lang's character around for 4 seasons is going to be anything more than tiresome. Is he just going to keep trying to kill everyone while they keep beating him but letting him live to return for the next film?

Plot prediction: at some point Lang's character infiltrates the Na'vi undercover using his own Avatar.

Sounds about as likely as anything. That's probably how he survives, in an Avatar body. Then after being in his Avatar for so long he learns some lessons and comes to appreciate the Na'vi and becomes one of the good guys. Then he can stick around for four flicks instead of being an annoyance like koby said.

All the new future dates for the next 4 Avatar sequels.

Will this forum even exist in 2028/29 by the time the last movie comes out? All of you will be probably be collecting social security by then.

It's a good thing they have changed the font. Still can't believe they got away with Papyrus.

Maybe JC can take a few hours to approve a new transfer of The Abyss for 4k disc release.

I donít remember anyone giving a shit about it until that SNL skit. After that it was apparently some unforgivable sin.
