How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
I ask because my mother and sister are thinking about seeing it, but are unsure of the R-rating. I know the movie is violent, but I want to know how violent and what kind of violence? Is it nasty, like a Saw movie, or is it a little more cartoonish? Any comparison to a similarly violent movie would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance! |

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
Not sadistic violence. More like typical horror fare.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
Just bloods and guts.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
For a major theatrical release that doesn't contain the word "Saw" in the title, I'd say it's definitely more violent/gory than you'd expect, even with the R rating.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
This Clip really shows how violent it gets:

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
I guess I'm too desensitized because, while it was definitely gory, I didn't think it was excessively done. But it is rated R for a reason.

And parents, please don't take your 2 year olds into this movie just because YOU want to see it. Yet again, we had another unpleasant experience with a babbling brat and parents who figured it was their right to enjoy the film while the kid evidently did not... |
Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
It never lingers on violence for shock value (save for one or two over-the-top shots), but it's still quite violent.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
Dude, some guy brought his son or nephew or whatever the young kid was to Watchmen. That kid was freaking out when The Comedian did his thing to Silk Spectre I. I've never yelled at someone in the theater but...c'mon now.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
It's just heads flying off which anyone watching it will find phony like a 70's kung fu flick.
There is no sex or satanic images like glorifing evil like they do in current vampire movies. So I recommend all ages for this. |

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
its violent, its not disturbing or anything but nothing like the saw films or the recent Halloween movies.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
lots of entrails and limbs. it's almost all takes place in really dark scenes. there is a lot of shock scare tactics, the kind that makes you jump.

Re: How violent is "The Wolf Man?"
Well, that is more his fault than the filmmakers'. As a huge fan of the original, I am disappointed that the remake contains so much gore, but no one tried to hide that information from me prior to seeing the film. A simple visual scan of the rating reason on the movie poster tells that: "Rated R for bloody horror violence and gore."
