Favorite Quentin Tarantino Film?

Inglorious Basterds seems to be the consensus pick for the best of 2009. So...is it Tarantino's best?

Re: Favorite Quentin Tarantino Film?

Out of all his films, I disliked Inglorious Basterds. I loved everything that came before it. I go through spurts of which are my favorites.......for six months, I could be on the Pulp Fiction kick, another six months the Kill Bill kick, etc, etc.

I always smile at the deleted scene in Jackie Brown where Michael Keaton and Pam Grier are in the restaurant, and Michael makes Pam laugh with a joke about whores. I forget how that went, but it's gold, Jerry. Gold!

Yes, it should be. But somehow I screwed that up when creating the thread. Sorry, folks.

Re: Favorite Quentin Tarantino Film?

1. Reservoir Dogs
2. Jackie Brown
3. Inglourious Basterds
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Kill Bill Vol. 2
6. Kill Bill Vol.1
7. Death Proof

I just double checked IMDB to make sure I didn't miss anything and noticed Kill Bill Vol. 3 has been announced. When did that happen? I never even heard that as a rumor. And I realize 1. IMDB isn't exactly the most accurate and 2. False Tarantino Rumors have been running rampant for years, but it's interesting news none-the-less.

Re: Favorite Quentin Tarantino Film?

HIs worst is definitely Death Proof, which is like a Tarantino parody. Best, I'd honestly be torn between Basterds, Pulp and Kill Bill V. 1 (I like V. 2 but it's a bit less taut than the first part).

Re: Favorite Quentin Tarantino Film?

I assume we are talking about Tarantino-directed films?

I'm not a big fan, to be honest. I'd probably have to say Jackie Brown.

"Jackie Brown." He was given a coherent narrative to work with and was allowed to add his own personal style to it. That's the only complaint I have about his original work; he goes off on tangents, that the audience doesn't always care about.

Re: Favorite Quentin Tarantino Film?

'Jackie Brown' is his best film as a director.

'True Romance Director's/Extended Cut' - with Scott at the helm, is my favorite film by him. I just wish the elevator scene with Walken would have been left in. It added a lot to the flow of the film.

Pulp Fiction, though Kill Bill vol.1 gets better with each viewing. Not seen Jackie Brown or Death Proof yet

The one where he makes a bunch of references to older obscure movies.
