Yeah, not my kind of music or genre at all, but its just dumb to say she has no talent, especially considering her age, and in comparisson to her contemporaries. Also, she is definitely beautiful.

I'm fairly certain you could do just as good if not a better job of writing similar songs if you tried. She can sing but shes successful because of how she looks. Not unlike Britney Spears.

Yes, there are much better singers.
Yes, there are much better looking girls.
Apparently, if you are a pretty girl, who can write a catchy pop song, and carry a tune; you get to be rich and famous, and you get awards. Is that why the terrorists hate us?
Unless she has Streep-ish acting abilities, Taylor Swift is a genuinely sweet young lady.
My teenage niece adores her. So, the fact that Taylor isn't running in and out of rehab, dressed like a whore, scores points with me.

Granted I am no Taylor Swift expert but I have heard a few of her Top 40 songs and they are catchy little ditties with little to no vocal enhancement. I never see any complaints that she lip syncs her entire concert as I have seen with numerous other "pretty" pop acts. I think people underestimate how hard it is to write a catchy song then play and sing it and actually get it published. If it was so easy, everyone would be doing it.
Not trying to be a Taylor Swift defender here but to say she has no talent is silly.

I always liked the spin for justifying Britney Spear lip-syncing. Fans pay for "spectacle" and "experience".
Too bad they can't experience someone actually singing.

I'm going to use it as the reviews thread. I saw this today and it was certainly entertaining. It had it's humorous moments but certainly wasn't hilarious. It was exactly what it was meant to be, a nice date movie for Valentines Day. The wife and I both found it enjoyable, and if she's happy, I'm happy.

This sprawling film, set in Los Angeles, has a huge cast of characters that are all in some form or fashion connected to someone else in this film, either by family bonds, or friends/acquantances or business contacts. It's almost too unwieldy, but I still ended up caring for about 1/2 of the storylines, and most were easy to follow along with throughout the somewhat overly long-winded film.
Obviously, the film is about finding love, and expressing it, and taking the good with the bad with relationships, and to celebrate it on that one day of the year, even in spite of the commerical excess that the day entails. That being said, Taylor Swift's bit parts were memorable, but in a bad way. Jessica Biel almost pulls off some comedic bits, but she's not quite at home with such material. Jennifer Garner's character has some strange ability to stretch the day into 30+ hours, it would seem, as she just appearing all over the place throughout the day. Ashton Kutcher actually played a sympathetic guy without much of a prank-ish spark. I'd be here all day if I commented on all the different connections, it was that much of a hodge-podge of a film.
Overall, it was simply okay, it will tug at your heart strings, it will get you to sniffle here and there about resolutions and dissolutions on this supposedly most romantic day of the year, but in the end, it's a tepid mess in spots, and overly drawn out in other areas, and it has Garry Marshall's gentle directorial hand all through its running time.
I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

Re: Valentine's Day- Hottest female cast ever?
I actually really enjoyed this movie. I saw it on Saturday and it was an entertaining, comedy about V-day -- just what I expected. I liked the huge cast and different story lines. I didn't go in with huge expectations, but after seeing the movie I can not agree with critics bashing this film. I'd say go see it if you want to laugh and be entertained. I am looking forward to the sequel, appropriately titled..New Year's Eve.

Is this the only thread for the movie?
I saw it on Sunday with the wife. Huge lines, sold out, etc. I won't say it's a rip off of Love Actually although there are some parallels and of course LA is the better movie.
I agree with the C+ rating.
