Re: Disney's Muppet Movie - News, Rumors, Cast, etc
not only was the 3D amazing but another technical plus was that special 70mm cameras were constructed and shot the feature to make it truly spectacular. Is the Muppet 3D film still featured at the Disney/MGM park?
and to go off topic for a sec, what's at the Epcot theatre that featured 'Captain EO' and 'Honey I Shrunk the Audience!'

Second, I believe Adventures with Ellen is in the old Captain EO theater.

In the world of "duh!"

Jason Segel to star in Muppets movie (exclusive)
Jason Segel has found his rainbow connection with Disney's Muppets movie, signing to star as the human lead.
He also will join David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films/TV, the studio-based shingle behind last year's "The Proposal," as a producer on the project.
James Bobin is on board to direct the movie, the plot of which is under wraps. The TV show as well as some of the movies tended to have one key human actor with whom the Muppets associated on their adventures. It is known that Segel plays a man on a quest to find and reunite the Muppets.
The actor's coming aboard is a natural extension of the development process; he wrote the script with pal Nicholas Stoller.
Segel has been on a tear with feature work of late. He recently boarded the Cameron Diaz comedy "Bad Teacher" and last week signed to star with Ed Helms in the Duplass brothers' latest movie, "Jeff Who Lives at Home."
He is repped by WME and Abrams Entertainment.

I think he's been in a constant explosion in his pants since he's been involved from the start of his being involved.

I can't help but hope that Segel recruits Craig Ferguson for a cameo somehow. Their combined love of all things puppet cries out for this to happen.

Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones are in negotiations to join Disney’s untitled Muppet movie.
Jason Segel is the human lead in the movie, being directed by James Bobin and eyeing a November start in Los Angeles.
The story, by Segel and Nicholas Stoller, sees those wacky Muppets reunite to put on a show in order to save a movie studio.
Adams will play Segel’s girlfriend, who joins him in the quest to gather the Muppets.
Cooper is the greedy villain, who wants to buys the studio to dig for the oil hiding underneath it and who never thought the Muppets were funny to begin with.
Jones would play an ABC exec.
Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing.

Sounds 1000x better than the typical remake of a classic story with a human character in the lead who gets 90% of the screen time.

I'd prefer a more unique concept, like going to Hollywood to make it in the show business, or New York to make it in show business, or solving a diamond heist.

They could have the muppets recreate "2 girls 1 cup" for 90 minutes and I'd have confidence it'd be better then any muppet film in the last 2 decades.

To each his own, but I personally enjoyed Muppet Treasure Island and Muppets from Space. But just for the sake of conversation...which two Muppets did you have in mind for this recreation?

Yeah, but it'll inevitably disappointing if they do this in 3D and the Swedish Chef doesn't fire a cannon over the audience from the projection booth.

From insidepulse.com
Here’s a rundown of some of the names tipped to appear in the film:
Eric Stonestreet, John Krasinski and Ed Helms have all been named as possible members of Lady Gaga’s entourage. One would suspect this means Lady Gaga will also be making an appearance herself.
Jane Lynch will appear as a prison guard. Her prisoner? None other than Machete himself, Danny Trejo.
Jack Black will appear as himself throughout a good portion of the movie.
Zach Galifianakis will appear as a hobo named Hobo Joe.
Barbara Eden will reprise her classic role of Jeannie from the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie.
French Stewart (Third Rock from the Sun) will appear as Gabe Lou, a seller of watches.
Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords) will appear as the moderator of an anger management group.
Can one presume that the new muppet movie will see Animal finally trying to control his emotions?
Donald Glover (Community) and Alan Arkin will also appear in the movie in yet-to-be-named roles.
A rumor that Paul Rudd would voice the new character Walter the Muppet has been denied by The Wrap. The other named rumored to voice the part is Michael Cera.

A new Muppets movie (that takes place after the TV show) starring Amy Adams sounds awesome! (I loved her in Enchanted!)
Man, not Jack Black again!
*Cringe*
Anyone have a list of all of the Muppets movies? To be honest I don't think I've seen the last 5 they made. I'll keep an eye out for them and try to catch up before this is released next year. A box set of all of them would be nice since I don't own any of them (yet).
