They're '60's efforts, and yes, they're on DVD - "Tom & Jerry: The Chuck Jones Collection"

Got a question, and figured this was the perfect place to ask, which short had Jerry dancing with a live action dancer (fred astaire?) in perfect sync. It was one of my faves growing up and was wondering if that one was on DVD at all?

Thanks, i actually didn't realize it was a full movie (i know i know) i'll def look in to either buying it, or looking for it on TCM.

shug, looking on youtube, it seems like that family guy did the full scene frame for frame just with Stewie instead of Jerry

My favorite and most memorable one-reel; it's not a prototypical example of Tom & Jerry since there's a guest star which changes the typical dynamic but it's a perfect example of how Tom can't ever win.
That was always my favorite, too.

My favorite is "The Truce Hurts": Tom, Jerry and Butch sign a peace treaty and are nice to each, until a juicy steak gets in the way. Even though it has one of the dumbest moments in the series: a dog (not Butch) tries to make a meal out of Tom.

I love the Tom and Jerry shorts from the 1940's and 50's. The 1960's T&J cartoons are terrible IMO.
