Yep - 3D only would mean a wait for Blu-ray for me. No thanks!

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

I don't know why people are freaking out that this will be in 3D only. It doesn't say that in the interview it just sounds like the director prefers the 3D for some of the sequences but it doesn't say that it's going to be a 3D release only. Even if it did turn out to be the case I'm sure I'd still see it because I'm a comic geek at heart and no matter how crappy it is I'll want to see it.

I only see very select films in 3D (see: Avatar). I won't pay or sit through a movie I have mild interest in at best that's only available in that format. It's not worth the $16 my local theater charges.

I've Googled the 3D only thing, though, and I haven't found any other sources. I guess we'll see/

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Hate to say it, but I'm leaning to positively looking forward to this.
Still plenty of stuff they are trading in that I dislike- but some of the ideas about the character of Parker are absolutely valid and could help elevate (or obfuscate) the weaker aspects of this reboot.

At least that's what I'm hoping. Up to this point, I was writing this off. When I go in, it will be with very low expectations, so it could easily turn out to be a pleasant surprise.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

In some ways the new posters for this movie remind me of the cover art for the Spider-Man: Edge of Time video game. Probably just coincidental.

If we didn't know what Lizard's face looked like that would be one hilarious surprise seeing it in the movie since he looks so badass from the back.

^ That looks like it's from a 40s Universal monster movie! I mean that in a good way.

Lizard looks so much better with the labcoat in that screencap. The face has never been a problem for me since it looks like classic Ditko Lizard. It was never the snout that made the Lizard; it was the labcoat.

Lizard looks much cooler with the lab coat on.

Not looking good for Nels Van Adder in that screen cap. So much for Protogoblin. I still think they could bring him back, but most likely not.

I'll say it again. I'm really digging the color schemes they're using for this. Nice blend. Really like the cityscapes at night look they got.

Three more pics. One in particular looks like it could potentially be a big spoiler.

Is there a preview of this trailer available, or just stills?

I'm not super excited for this film, but I do think this latest trailer makes it look like it could be very good.

Yep, too bad Andrew Garfield is the lead.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

This movie just doesn't grab my attention. Despite how they're trying to revise some of the origin story, it just feels tired.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

New trailer didn't do anything to raise my interest in this. I still don't think another origin story needed to be done this soon. I still don't know if it's 3D only or not.

Being a big Spidey fan I feel compelled to see it but its hard when nothing about it looks interesting to me.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Eh..I still don't know about this movie. That trailer made it look slightly better than what we've seen but I'm still not very excited for it. I agree with the comments about Garfield. He just doesn't work for me as Spidey for some reason. It's probably a stupid complaint to make but I honestly think part of it is that goofy ass looking hairstyle Lizard looks a little better with the labcoat on though.
