Re: Paranormal Activity 2 (Greutert, October 2010)
Count me down as not liking this one very much. I went on the insistence of some friends who claimed it was "The Godfather II of horror sequels" and I left feeling like it was more "Godfather III". This is the EXACT same movie as the first, except since we've already seen similar events before none of it feels new. What happens for 70 min? Nothing. A few loud noises, a thousand shots of that goddamn pool cleaner, a door closes. Same things happened in the first, basically. Then once the shit kicks in, there isn't too much that didn't happen last time, right down to the dragging and bite on the female lead. And the ending was just all kinds of dumb. I don't see how they're going to do a third, but I'm sure someone will figure it out. I like haunting films, and I thought this was decent for that genre, but as a sequel to PA I felt it missed the mark.

I just got around to seeing this and agree big time on the bolded part. That's about the only thing I'm going to remember from PA2. I thought the original was very effective and creepy, but the sequel sucked. The first 75 minutes is a complete bore and the guy that plays the father is a turd of an actor. I kept waiting to see a cue card accidentally make it in the frame whenever he spoke.
Nothing new added to this one. Just the same old noises, and then the "all hell breaks loose" ending. I did like the security cameras though. That was a neat idea to give us different looks of the house, and the pool.

A topless Katie would have made up for the lack of scares.

After making fun of this for the entire thread, I saw it the other night and loved it. Go figure. I thought the premise behind it was excellent and I liked the family members. And yeah, Katie in a bikini was a nice plus.

I have been browsing the internet all night, and absolutely nothing has made me laugh as hard as this particular comment. Well done, sir
