I love Norm and all, but that bit seemed to mostly bomb from the crowd reaction to him.

But notice how all the comedians were laughing their asses off? They got it, the audience didn't.

I'm not certain all the comedians "got" what he was doing. Some seem genuinely puzzled, which is great. Quite a few of them probably aren't old enough to know precisely where he got most of the jokes from, or the entirely different dais and audience reaction they got back then (in large part due to the delivery, which MacDonald deliberately avoids), or they just aren't particularly well-researched. Good stuff.

 Brilliant bit.

I always like Norm. Bob Odenkirk and Norm are two comedians that I can't get enough of, but unfortunately don't see often nowadays.

I also think some were genuinely puzzled. However, Sagat got it right off the bat.

Literally.

Norm is literally a genius. You know... based on his IQ type of thing, not a sort of compliment as to my interpretation of his talent.
