:(
Rest in peace. |
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
Really sad, he's associated with a lot of great stuff. :(

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
I knew he must have been in bad shape when he cancelled an appearance at Portland's annual HP Lovecraft festival.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
Big fan. What a letdown.
RIP....until the acid rain. |
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
Return of the Living Dead always fascinated me when I was younger. It was thrilling, scary, and always fun. First horror movie that I ever saw like that.
And, for some reason, Dan O'Bannon was one of the first names that stuck in my head, when I was ten-or-so, just watching and learning about movies. RIP |
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
I saw him speak at a screenwriting conference a few years ago in Los Angeles. Sad to hear of his passing.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
:( I'll have to give the Alien supplements a spin this weekend.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
:( Return of the Living Dead is one of my all-time favorites, and I love his segment in Heavy Metal.

He made some great contributions to the world of horror. Sad to hear about this.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
I'm pretty bummed right now. I woke up in a great mood (doesn't happen often haha) and literally the second thing I saw on the net was of his passing. As someone else said his name was one of the first I remembered when I was younger, and I've been a fan of his for 2/3 of my life. RIP

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
THIS JUST IN: O'Bannon isn't dead, though he appears to have major medical problems. I just received a message from him saying, "Send more paramedics."
|
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
Had the pleasure of meeting him at a Fangoria Weekend of Horrors, way back when that show was cool. Twenty years ago? The cast of Return of the Living Dead was there (signed my poster!), but I just talked to him. Mostly about Alien.
Well, OK, I talked to Linnea Quigley a lot, too. Sad day. Too young! |
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
I feel so embarrassed to admit that I didn't realize he was writer/director of Return of the Living Dead. :(
|
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
I am quite upset to hear that he passed away. I was always a huge fan of his work and like others here, he was one of the first people I was aware of when researching my favorite films as a kid.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
Passing of a giant, and way too young. For a time there, every making-of doc I watched had him in it. I like the idea of him crawling out of the grave to eat our braaaiiiins, though.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
Alien is one of my all time favorite films. He will be missed.
|
Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
I've always enjoyed both Alien and Dark Star.

Re: RIP Dan O'Bannon
VERY sad news to me!!
R.I.P. Dan!! |
