Leatherface and Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Next Generation both have different families than the previous entries

Man, I can't get over how much hate there is for Q of S. It's no Casino Royale, but it's nowhere near the levels of crap of The World Is Not Enough or Die Another Day. I would say if you look at Q of S as an addendum to Royale and not just a sequel, it's a bit better.
Freddy vs. Jason disregards New Nightmare, and it also chucks a lot of Freddy character points to the curb. Such as his ability to steal children's souls.

Halloween H2O basically erases Halloween 4-6. Still a good return for Jamie Lee Curtis to the series, but it sucks that it re-set the timeline for the series.
Wasn't Sony developing a sequel to XXX with Vin Diesel even though the Xander Cage was killed off in some mini movie on the XXX DVD and mentioned as dead in XXX2?

Saw IV when it comes to the last ten minutes of the director's cut (only) of Saw III.
I can agree on Army of Darkness, but disagree on Evil Dead II. It runs the audience through the events of the last film in ten minutes before picking up exactly where they left off.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but… In Problem Child 2 the woman who played Ben’s new love interest was the same actress who played his wife in the first movie.

If disregard can equal "care" in this case, ALIEN 3 is the ultimate spit in the face to ALIENS.

It also disregards the fact that Jason killed numerous victims underwater over the course of 10 films, yet in this film it's his weakness? Puh-lease!

The Planet of the Apes films ignored continuity any time it made for a better plot. I mean, why would NASA send a rescue mission after Taylor when his mission in the first film was obviously going to take decades? And when exactly did Kira and Cornelius salvage Taylor's ship, refuel it, take off, and discover the secrets of time travel?

In the first Fantastic Four, it is stated that their uniforms can transform with them because they were wearing them at the time of their accident, but in the second film Reed can stretch with regular clothes.
There's a lot of continuity issues between the BTTF films that would ignore previous events but I don't want to open up that can of worms

I must say that when I first saw Alien 3 I HATED it with a passion. However, when the director's cut was released in the Quadrilogy I came to appreciate it much more. They really hacked the shit out of that movie in the theater.

Nightmare on Elm Street movies.
Just how long can those parents ignore the events and hope that their kids isn't murdered, along with the other fifty kids on the block?

Both Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness ask the audience to, not exactly discard, but reconsider the plot of the previous films. In both ED2 and AOD, the recaps reduce the previous film's cast to just Ash and his girlfriend.

I never really understood all the hate for Alien3 in that regard. I loved Hicks and Michael Biehn and Newt was cool and all.
But it's not like shit doesn't happen. You play the game as it's dealt - that's life. Just because people survived one movie, doesn't mean they're guaranteed a shot at the next. I woke up today, doesn't mean I will tomorrow.
Good night!

Revenge of the Sith - Luke and Leia's mother shouldn't die in childbirth, as Leia remembers her REAL mother in Return of the Jedi.
Rocky III - Rocky's got a bad eye from Rocky II, he shouldn't be able to fight again.
Rocky Balboa - Rocky's got brain damage from Rocky V, he shouldn't be able to fight again.

Man, I could talk about this all day.
But I won't, because TV Tropes has a page devoted to it with countless examples:

Enjoy.
