Re: Golden Globes Noms Announced!

Kathryn Bigelow vs James Cameron on director, Quentin nominated

Cloudy w/ a Chance of Meatballs and Fantastic Mr. Fox

No Ponyo (I just wasn't a fan of the 2nd half, and I normally love Miyazaki.), Robert Downey Jr in Sherlock Holmes, Karen O getting a nom

I'm shocked that sackboy cartoon got nominated for best musical or comedy -- it's neither!

Re: Golden Globes Noms Announced!

Surprised that Where the Wild Things Are didn't get a nom. I have a lot of catching up to do.

The reaction to that film was lukewarm at best.

As for supporting actor, there are two categories of people: those who think Christoph Waltz should win, and those who haven't seen Inglourious Basterds.

Looks about as expected with a few surprises, but the lack of Best Picture nominations for Moon and District 9 saddens me.

As much as I enjoyed Moon, I don't really see it being a best picture contender for most major awards.

District 9 I wasn't a huge fan of so no shock there for me.

I think cause it out on import dvd and bluray - which is a shame really - cause it's one of Woo's best.

I think 'The White Ribbon' will win the award as it will also an Oscar too

Re: Golden Globes Noms Announced!

I wasnt particularily wowed by Matt Damon's acting in INVICTUS

as much of the press seems to be gushing over PRECIOUS I really don't have any desire to see it.

Big to Tarantino for all those noms. He deserves 'em. I'd like to see IB walk away with at least one of those.

How about Zooey Deschanel for "(500) Days of Summer"? Rachel Weisz for "The Brothers Bloom"? Amy Adams for "Sunshine Cleaning"?
