I saw a zombie movie around Halloween time, I can't remember much from it except that I think it was made sometime in the 80's, and it took place in a church, at least the part I saw. It had a black guy too, and there was one scene I remember where they locked up this guy in one of the rooms because he was going to turn in to a zombie. I know this is pretty general, and I forget what channel it was on. Any help would be much appreciated.I know it isn't Prince of Darkness, even though that takes place in a church and has zombies.

Return of the Living Dead has a scene that takes place in the funeral home and they lock up the two guys (James Karen and Thom Mathews) in the chapel when they are turning into zombies. There is a black gang member character there too. Might be it?

Yeah, the funeral home part sounds familiar, and the black guy was dressed like a gang member so that makes sense.
