Shouldn't NEW MOON be called FULL MOON?

What's the deal with the title? Werewolves change under full moons and even if these are magic werewolves that change whenever, the movie should be called FULL MOON.

Re: Shouldn't NEW MOON be called FULL MOON?

Q. What does the title refer to? Is it a werewolf reference?

A. Nope. The term "new moon" refers to the phase of the moon opposite a full moon. It is when the sun is on the opposite side of the moon from us and thus the bright side of the moon is not visible from earth. This is the darkest kind of night. New Moon is the darkest period of Bella's life.

That's a dumb explanation. It should have been called ECLIPSE in that case.

Raise your hand if the whole Twilight/New Moon phenomenon has passed you by and you don't feel like you've missed anything.

It should've have been called Joss Whedon Did the Same Thing Ten Years Ago With "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and Did it Better.

Waits patiently for Groucho to show up and bash Joss Whedon and his fans....

Do you have to be a white teenage girl to get into this Twilight business?

Whedon fans and Twilight fans need to arm themselves to the teeth and go at it against each other.

Whoever loses.... we win.

What are Twilight fans going to do, whine, faint and babble until we go deaf?

ME!!!!!!

If this new film is as stilted, stiff, and as cringe-worthy as the first one, I don't think anyone outside of teenage girls will care.

The funny thing was I saw a couple of pics from the premiere and 95% of the people in attendance were girls 10-20.

No, not at all. I agree with the premise that Joss Whedon invented vampires and their lore, and all new vampire fiction must fit with Our Lord and Savior's established continuity.

Yeah, because anyone who is a fan of Whedon's is too stupid to know that isn't remotely true...oh wait, we're not.

I'll use the Batman example again:

1966 Batman TV show = Dog shit (to me)

1989 / 2005 / 2008 interpretations of Batman = pretty damn good (to me)

Is the 1966 Batman invalid because I don't like it? No, never.

Same can be said of vampire-based stories.

TWILIGHT chicks are probably, on average, much better looking.

HARRY POTTER chicks are probably, on average, more fun and an easier lay.

But let's talk about the ones over 12...

I think you're onto something - maybe they can take that suggestion for the THIRD MOVIE.
