A few other things...

75% of Carol's gross was from 3D

Couples Retreat may make $100MM... It dropped less than 1%

Re: Box Office Thread 11/6-11/8 — A Christmas Carol

That gross for Precious is really impressive for only 18 screens!

I was hoping Men Who Stare At Goats would at least make it to #2. Oh well.

Interesting that aside from Saw, no other movies really had big drops.

I believe the title and George Clooney staring made this movie bomb.

Wasn't Clooney supposed to stare in the movie? He is one of the men in the title, no?

Think he meant "starring".... you know, cause of his leftist beliefs. I noted awhile ago that Clooney has never proved himself box office wise.... but it's obvious he's not choosing potential blockbusters to star in, seems to just be doing projects he wants, which I gotta give him credit for.

This Is It dropped over 40%.
Paranormal Activity dropped over 50%.

Just saying. ;)

I'm curious to see how wide of a release Sony gives The Boondock Saints II this coming weekend. I'd actually like to have a conversation with someone about the movie.

MAY make!? With 95.6M in the bag currently, and making 6.1M this weekend, I'd say that's it's more likely to finish around 105-110K.

Also, whoever said that "Paranormal Activity" dropped 50%, true. Well, technically 49%. Still, in it's 7th week, not a big deal.

I think it's a lot more likely to finish around 105-110M.

It's already made over $110,000.

Do you mean worldwide? If so, that's currently at 117K. But I meant 105-110M in the U.S.

I don't consider anything under 50% a "big" drop.

well after reading EW's trashing of the movie in the most recent issue I have no plans on seeing this movie.

I don't trust EW as far as I can throw them. I don't know what their problems were with it, but I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

We've got broadly similar movie tastes. While Men Who Stare At Goats is not a great movie, it's worth watching. You should see it, even if only at home (boo).

EW suck! Why would anyone let their reviews on ANYTHING make or break their decision?
