So since I enjoy the series, you're insulting my taste then? Thanks.

Gee, thanks. I don't go see the movies I'm not interested in. But I'm tired of the Hollywood assembly line. Here another enstallment is already in the works even before they knew if the most recent one would be a hit. Which it is not. Not sure if it's going to make a profit since I have no idea what the budget is. But it will be the lowest grossing chapter in the series.

And jrsl76, I know what you're trying to say. Even if several people don't. I stopped watching these films after the 3rd one. And the Variety review sums it up the best "A film so frighteningly familiar it could well be called Saw It Already."

SAW VI is already making profit. It was hurt by Paranormal Activity. VII and VIII will also make profit. The franchise has fans. Fans will see the films.

You can voice your dislike for a movie or series without insulting those who enjoy the series. Comments like that are senseless, like those that week in and out continue to cite the state of the movie going public because another Tyler Perry movie is #1. And with budgets of only 10 million, it's going to make money regardless of this grossing the lowest of the series. Sorry, but I guess you're just going to have to complain for a few more years.

Law Abiding Citizen is #3?

Pretty decent box office take, the movie itself was pretty decent

That is the second time in this thread you've used the insult card when someone has expressed their opinion about these movies. But mine was insulting to no one. You need to grow some thicker skin.

I know this wasn't directed towards me... but you're the one that is all up in arms about a successful film series making multiple installments.

Insult card I was still referring to the comment made by jrsl76 that you were agreeing with, not anything in your post. I don't need thicker skin, as i'm hardly offended by an internet forum post. Just pointing out that I feel those type of comments are ridiculous. I look forward to your complaints for at least two more years

Wait...so OUR views and comments are ridiculous and senseless, but also insulting. Hmmm.

And yes, look for me for the next two years. Maybe more.

Best advice. Avoid it. Funny enough I haven't been stuck watching a movie of a franchise I didn't like.

Besides that, why would another movie in the FRANCHISE piss you off so much? It's a Halloween tradition to some, get that stick out of your ass. It's dirt cheap and they turn a profit, no matter how much they sink from week to week.

Besides that, horror movies in general are films no critic can really sink. No matter how bad it may be, people will watch it that have stuck with seeing them.

While you may not like it, much like a burger king burger, it may not be healthy but it's something those who want a cheap meal can get.

On a related note, glad that MJ-Porn didn't do gangbusters or anything.

Jesus, people. The Deal with it at the end of NickCrush's post seemed a jibe, I reacted. Not a big deal. Like what you want, but there is a certain lowest common denominator factor to cranking out one more installment and the masses will roll out in droves. I guess they all like it and great for them. No I'm not up in arms and pissed off, but apparently just providing an unpopular opinion. Yeah, I don't like the Saw films and it's for no other reason than I just don't think they are very good and I wish they'd just go away. Probably not going to happen.

But again, why do you wish they go away if there's some people (the unwashed masses) that are enjoying them and they're easy enough to make and turn a profit. Just as easy as it is for you to ignore them.

Agree. I'm also not "pissed off" about any of this. Nor do I have a stick up my ass about it. Like you, just expressing my useless opinion. Glad some people enjoy them. And I already said I gave the franchise a try. But dropped off after #3.

It was at number #16. It made nearly $500K at only 68 theaters. That's not exactly terrible.

I know, it's just the point of showing all these commercials for it, then playing it at that many theaters.

Re: Box Office 10/30-11/1: Is that It For This Is It?

In regards to Boondock Saints II, Sony only released advertising material less than a month ago. Nobody knew what kind of theatrical release it was getting until a week and a half ago.

If it opened on 500 locations this weekend and maintained the same PSA, it would've pulled in a $3-4 million opening weekend. Not impressive, but for a sequel to a film that got a one week release in 5 theaters a decade ago? I could see Sony expanding it into a few more markets, but not many. Too bad Black Dynamite dropped like a fucking rock in it's second weekend of release.

Sure, if you're subscribing to the idea that just because you don't care for a movie the people that do have bad taste. I couldn't care less if you hate a movie and the series, but comments like "there's no accounting for taste" is a terrible reason. I don't think that's too terrible of a complaint to get all uppity about.
