Question about Ocean's 11 (the modern one)

When they
Spoiler:
break into the vault, they stop at the bottom of the elevator to slide a silver puck down to hall to feet of the two guards. They wait a bit, and the guards pass out.

What is that little doodad?

I think it had some sort of knockout gas in it, IIRC.

Re: Question about Ocean's 11 (the modern one)

I was just thinking about all the doodads in movies. (I would love to have those radio/video phones that work everydamnwhere.)

There were rather a lot of them in Ocean's 11. My favorite is the
Spoiler:
pinch, which sends out an electromagnetic pulse to black out Las Vegas.
There's no explanation of how it does it, or why anyone would just have one laying around.

No explanation necessary... it's just a movie, oh Dangerous one.

It is what is known as a "flash bang" used to disorient people. I don't know that they were knocked out I think just disoriented and then tied up.

They were unconscious. Whatever it was, it was no longer a hazard only a few moments later. I've heard it was ultrasonics.

I like weird gizmos in movies that are not fantasy or science fiction.

Here's an article about the z-pinch used in the movie:
