I can't resist repeating my viewing experience with these two films. We saw them last summer at one of the few remaining drive-in theaters in the country, and they always do double features, so we got Adam Sandler and Harrison Ford (talk about your signs of the apocalypse...)

Anyways, Zohan was first, then Crystal Skull.

We had a reasonably good time, though part of that is the fact that we were at a drive-in and the atmosphere is just great there. But when I tell people what I think of the movies I have to point out that if I were scoring the two, I would score Zohan higher, simply because it may have had a lower goal to shoot for, but it nailed it good and hard. Crystal Skull should have been amazing, and while it had some great set-pieces, it just kinda laid there.

I've also said before how neat it would have been if Crystal Skull had been the third movie made, way back in 89, and then they hit us with Last Crusade 20 years later. The idea of the older guys getting the band back together to find one of the most fabled relics of all time would have been just too awesome to behold.

And I also mostly enjoyed Hancock, it created a very interesting mythology and I was fairly well convinced by Smith as a world-weary superhero that just didn't give a crap anymore. I said after first watching it, and I stand by it, when he uses the car
Spoiler:
as a shield to get the fallen police officer
, it was one of the most iconic comic book images I've seen in ages.

Good to hear Tara Reid isn't in it.
