Oh..oh shit..you reminded me...yeah..I'm sure Sam would put on a space suit and for some fucking reason still help out the Autobots when it's obvious it's beyond his human hands to help out. Damn you, Michael Bay.

Has anybody seen the original script for TF2? How different was it from the actual film?

When TRANSFORMERS was first announced as a movie--in what, 2005?, 2006?--it caused a crisis for the friend of a co-worker of mine. The friend had been working for years on a live-action TRANSFORMERS screenplay. He'd never optioned the Transformers concept. Never had any remote connection to the Transformers copyright holders. Just thought how cool it would be to have a live-action Transformers movie and how he'd just sell the script to them when it was done and it would be his ticket to fame and fortune. So my co-worker, an aspiring actor/writer/director himself, was asked by the friend to find any contact he could with Spielberg, Bay or anybody involved with the announced production as if there was even a remote chance that Bay et al would have any interest whatsoever in reading some fanboy's painfully executed exegesis. (We actually did have a potential contact with Spielberg, thanks to a Holocaust survivor here who'd been interviewed for one of his projects, but we wouldn't dare use it for anything this frivolous.)

I've not seen the script but according to the audio commentary, the Fallen didn't make an appearance 'til the end of the movie. When test audiences criticised the fact that the titular villain was scarcely in the movie, the writers responded by adding that "only a Prime can defeat me" BS, having the Fallen appear on the aircraft carrier, and having him make the global speech rather than Megatron.

That's more harm than good because if a group of Primes couldn't beat him, why would one pose any kind of threat? And after the Fallen declared himself to the world, he still did nothing until the ending of the movie.

They should have gone with the rumoured The Mummy Returns scenario where the Fallen was trapped in another dimension and Megatron was trying to free him in the hopes of gaining more power. You simply have the Fallen betray Megatron and you conclude it with an epic battle featuring a temporary Autobot/Decepticon alliance.

One more thing: Devastator. I feel he should appeared twice. The first time, he's a new secret weapon that Megatron uses to pound the Autobots mercilessly. The second time, Megatron uses him against the Fallen but Devastator is obliterated almost effortlessly (though not so much that it would make defeating the Fallen totally impossible).

Maybe Odette could have a small role, as the Megan Fox character and then give her a violent demise within the first ten minutes.

The Unborn being a Platinum Dunes production. Maybe Michael Bay has a thing for that exact look.

You kinda left your story dangling there but I get ya. Your friend's friend should try for a writing fellowship. That's what I'm doing. Sure it's TV writing but it's writing nonetheless. And it's a way in while doing something you enjoy.

So it seems that Gemma Arterton is the front-runner to replace Megan Fox. And despite her appearing on the set to shoot previsualisation footage for the movie, Fox walked from the film. So I guess it's no mere rumour.

I agree...I was confused too and she should replace Fox!

The simple fact that people are debating the character of Mikaela, and who should now play her, tells me TF3 is already fucked. Seriously, they should put Carli in the movie instead and call it a day. Throw Chip in as well, then Bay could have a transforming wheelchair in his movie ....

Too bad Wheelie is already a toy monster truck in the second movie but maybe we can get this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWWNnESqNHw

I think they are just getting a new character as opposed to re-casting.

My guess is that at the beginning of TF3 one of two things will happen:

- We open on a major battle between the Autobots and Decepticons, during which Mikaela (who has been abducted off screen) will be killed by an explosion. This allows Sam to grow as a character dealing with loss, and apparently fulfills many wishes by anonymous crewmembers from the second one that she die a horrid death on screen (though we never see the actress).

-We see Sam going to Mikaela's with a ring, and when he arrives he finds a note. One of the twins makes a comment like: "Damn, that bitch done gone." This also allows Sam to grow as a character while keeping offensive characters at the forefront.

Hmm...how are the actual Transformers supposed to grow as characters? Aren't they the stars of the movie? Bay has been fooling me for the past two.

There are news or rumors that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is replacing Megan Fox's role in TF3.

For the love of Christ just make a transformers film..you don't need a girl for this film. Just Transformers and human casualties.

She's ugly. Or those are some really bad shots of her.

And Solid Snake PAC is right. In fact, just keep Mikaela offscreen for the whole movie a'la Die Hard With A Vengeance.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

Instead of the brinkmanship, they should have had agreed to kill of Mikaela, with Fox getting paid for a cameo and still being able to save face and Bay can do whatever he wants without it being awkward.

So are they giving Sam a new love interest, or just replacing the actress playing the character?

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

From Deadline Hollywood:

UPDATE: The other actresses on the short-list have been informed that the female lead will go to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, so unless things fall apart at the negotiating table, she's the new Transformers 3 gal.

EARLIER: Newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has become the front-runner to replace Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf's love interest in Transformers 3. Insiders say that Bay is down to a short-list of three actresses, but is focused on the model after she read for the role last Friday. On the short-list with Huntington-Whiteley is Sarah Wright and Brooklyn Decker. Wright has appeared in Surfer, Dude and The House Bunny. Decker is the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue model who got her first big starring role opposite Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in the comedy Just Go With It, which might be retitled to Pretend Wife.

Paramount began production May 17 in Los Angeles on Transformers 3, but Bay has another week to make his final decision. The actress won't begin shooting scenes with Shia for two weeks. Bay wants to launch a fresh face, and that would be the case for all three but especially for Huntington-Whitely, whose only IMDB credits are several appearances in the TV special The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Bay has worked with her on several Victoria's Secret campaigns, I'm told.

MICHAEL BAY'S REVENGE! No More Megan

Based on those choices, I definitely would have gone with Sarah Wright. I've sat through The House Bunny, which was surprisingly halfway entertaining. She would've been fine for this film.

I had to google Sarah Wright as her name doesn't ring a bell. Cute girl but I don't remember her in The House Bunny.
