It's a great film. A tearjerker in parts. A hilarious comedy in others. A suspense film as well. The movie has it all.

Also, if someone says they didn't tear up or cry - they are lying.

Youngblood was huge when I was in middle school. It is one of those guilty pleasure movies, and I have seen it a zillion times on cable. Racki had the best line, "You wanna go pretty boy!"

And Cynthia Gibb is worth the rental for anyone who hasn't seen it

yeah. i also voted for Road House, and i own it on DVD. but i admit i watch it with much irony. the so-bad-it's-good cheese ball factor

like when Dalton (Swayze) does a little hair flip after smashing a guy's head through a table. or when that chick does a striptease in front of him, in the middle of the bar, for no apparent reason. or when Dalton humps the doctor chick (who just happens to be stupendously hot) against a wall with all their clothes on.

i could go on and on like that. what a movie

I love (or hate) the part when Dalton hisses to Wesley "You are such an asshole". Whenever I hear that line, I think "Is that lame expletive really the most scathing rebuke you can come up with after all Wesley has done?" No question, some of the dialogue, especially Dalton's, is laughable, because he's such a straight arrow.
If I remember correctly, that head nod was not to flip his hair back into place, but to summon the other bouncers to eject the guy whose head he had just smashed through the table.
Incorrect. She clearly had her panties off and he clearly has his drawers down when they start humpin'. I thought it was actually quite graphic for a largely clothes-on impromptu sex scene. But there's no question Kelly Lynch is a joke as the town doctor.

Road House, guilty pleasure or not, is one of the great "vengeance & ass-kicking" Man's movies. It's like the testosterone equivalent of Steel Magnolias. I could watch it over and over, and I watch it almost every time it's on TV, which is often.

ah ha! yes it is that fine attention to detail that makes Dalton the best cooler in the business. truly he is the master of the badass head nod signal to other bouncers.

however it becomes redundant because he then utters in his best Dalton voice "Escort this gentleman to the door" while holding up the incapacitated patron. cue excited whispers of "That's Dalton!" and "Did you see that shit?"

more badass in a five-second sequence than most people have in their entire day!

well i did not mean they kept ALL their clothes on literally. of course Dalton would not engage in mere dry humping. a man of action such as him must have penetration!

i just find it amusing their humping commences with the absolute minimum of clothing removal necessary for sex to occur. it is like 10 seconds of meaningful staring and then groin connection. foreplay? what's that? just pin her against the wall and go

while i agree with you about the re-watchability, i must disagree with you that it is a great vengeance movie. the actual vengeance is far too unsatisfying. lest we forget, Dalton himself refuses to kill Brad Wesley. we never find out who actually put the knife in Garrett, and whether vengeance was visited upon them. the fat thug does not even die!

if i want vengeance & ass-kicking, there is far more to be found in the likes of classic martial arts films. the entire Shogun Assassin series operates under a simple rule: those who cross Ogami Itto must die. no posturing! no moral hesitation! by the end of the movie, all his enemies will be killed by his blade. now that's vengeance

no, i watch Road House for the macho cheese, which is abundant. it's a MAN's cheese

Point Break gets my vote. It's a very quotable movie, sure it's bad, but it's so bad it's actually good.

I would have blindly voted for Red Dawn, had I not watched it a few days ago. I hadn't seen it in years... my God! I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Milius actually filmed and edited this movie in less than a week. I saw Red Dawn in it's original theatrical release when I was 13 years old. I remember that the imagery and premise were very iconic. It wasn't until this recent viewing that I realized how slapped together this movie feels. I doubt I'd ever watch this movie ever again, unless we end up doing the inevitable "Favorite Charlie Sheen Movie" pole one day in the future.
