Re: Favorite Patrick Swayze Movie?

It was tough between Road House and Point Break. Went with the last one I watched (Road House).

I have to say Dirty Dancing. Im that generation, whose Mothers watched the movie all the time, and it stuck. But also a big fan of Road House, and Point Break.

Definitely Point Break, anytime it's on I'll sit there like a frickin zombie and watch it til the end. Definitely like a fair share of his movies though. 11:14 was pretty cool and of course Road House is always good.

Re: Favorite Patrick Swayze Movie?

I voted for CITY OF JOY because I figured no one else would. And I was right.
It's the least annoying movie on the list and it has a great score by Ennio Morricone.

Swayze never starred in movies that appealed to me, but I always found him likeable and charismatic. And he sounds like he was a great guy in real life. I just wish he'd found his niche in other genres.

Probably The Outsiders, the original version.

But, I liked 11:14 as well.

Re: Favorite Patrick Swayze Movie?

For a huge dose of Swayze, I recommend the mini-series North and South. The series also starred David Carradine who died this year too!

Sad to say there isn't a single movie on that list, (which I've seen), that I like so I will have to go with Donnie Darko.

To paraphrase Mike Nelson, nothing else remotely achieves the pure Road House-iness of Road House.

I have to admit I absolutely love Point Break but in some shocking lapse of taste I have never seen Road House. Renting it tonight. RIP, Mr. Swayze

Re: Favorite Patrick Swayze Movie?

Although he has alot of guilty pleasure movies like Roadhouse and Red Dawn, his best movie, IMO, is Ghost. I understand this like Titanic to many and think that a bunch of girls made this a hit, but I remember it was a must see that summer of 1990, and still holds up well today. Wow, has it been 19 years? I feel old.....

I'm still the only person to vote for Youngblood.

i've seen it before, but i taped this from cable a couple weeks ago and it was god awful. i could barely get through it. though i like him now, i can't believe Rob Lowe got work after this. a cardboard cut out of Mr. Bean would have been a better actor.
