The Fourth Kind Trailer - Alien Abuctions *Goosebumps*
In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now.
Structured unlike any film before it, The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered.
Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.
Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, The Fourth Kind exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.

Just saw the trailer today and it actually creeped me out in the theater. Using archived footage of the patients and splicing it with the movie is a different method for a movie.

I love me my Milla but she certainly knows how to make a lot of crap.
Straight to my netflix list it will go. (unless its r-rated and more than 2 hours that is of course. but i highly doubt that)

Though it wasn't originally part of the terminology. The guy who made the scale just did First, Second, and Third, with abductions just being a part of Third. A Fifth kind was added too, something like voluntary contact with extraterrestrials.

It's amazing that people can take night terrors and delusions people have when they suffer sleep paralysis and make crappy movies like this and say the "experiences" were extraterrestrial. But why not? A kid's drug induced delusions were fodder for A Haunting in Connecticut after all.

I just skimmed through the thread and it appears Milla Jovovich is offering fabulous anal probes. Is this correct?

That trailer was pretty freaky. If this is kind of along the lines of The Mothman Prophecies/Exorcism of Emily Rose, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Even though I would usually scoff at these type of movies I have to admit the archived footage mixed in does creep me out

At least the trailer will teach a lot of people how to properly pronounce Milla Jovovich's name.

Chapstick! Oh, wrong movie.
If Milla cares about this movie she will show both breasts ... and I will be there.

I have this strange fascination... and absolute terror... with aliens. I usually find myself gathering courage to watch alien stuff only to have the images haunt my nightmares. Even things like Unsolved Mysteries and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are too much for me.
I couldn't get thirty seconds into this trailer. I was too scared. I can't see this movie.

I think this looks too clean and polished to really be scary. It really takes me out of it when the rooms where they do the interviews look like they're right out some luxury magazine. I'm sure the offices of a psychiatrist/psychologist (especially in small-town Alaska!) would look much more run-down and thrown-together. Get some poorly-lit rooms, some smoldering cigarette butts in ashtrays, a water stain in the wallpaper...that's the start of something scary.
Maybe I'm overreacting a bit, but I just really don't like the visual look of this (and the wavy-video was also overdone in the trailer - look, the movie's so intense it's warping the celluloid! lol)
