Identify this 80s movie featuring Indy-type blond heroine and... Aztecs?
Back in the 1980s, I remember watching a bizarre low-budget sort of Indiana Jones-copycat treasure-hunting/western movie.
In short, it was about a young, blond Daryl Hannah lookalike wandering around in desert country that may have been Mexico or Peru. (I'm pretty sure it wasn't Africa.) It also features Aztecs or Incans who like to dip humans head-first in liquid gold as a way of decapitating them.
It was fairly violent stuff. One scene that sticks to mind had the characters holed up in a sort of fort and looking out, and being horrified when one of their comrades returns on a horse, headless. There was also the aforementioned scene where a person (possibly the same guy) is slowly lowered into a vat of molten gold until the head is submerged.
The ending occurs in a sort of corral and/or makeshift outpost where the main characters fight some bad guys (possibly bandits).
The whole thing must have been somewhat tongue-in-cheek, however, because it ended with a humorous (possibly fake) preview of a sequel showing the blond girl as a butt-kicking Indy-type heroine.
I am pretty sure it was made in the 80s, possibly late 70s. It could be English, but it also be, say, Italian.
It's not any of these movies:
The Further Adventures of Tennesse Buck
The Fantastic World of DC Collins
Romancing the Stone
Jewel of the Nile
Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold
Sheena
Treasure of the Four Crowns
Jane and the Lost City
Firewalker

I believe you're thinking of Gwendoline aka The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak.
