Re: Movie Stars with No Talent?

Over the last few years I'm starting to realize Sly Stallone is a lot more talented than people give him credit for.

One that immediately come to mind:

Jonah Hill - He seems to have gone to the "Frankie Muniz School of Acting" where he yells every line as if he's out of breath. Granted, he may not be a "movie star" but he's popping up everywhere.

"Flirting." One of her first movies and still her best, most natural performance. Very sweet, underrated flick.

My picks:

Adam Sandler
Tim Allen
Will Smith (just wretched)
Cameron Diaz
Ashton Kutcher
Will Ferrell
Kirsten Dunst
Tom Cruise
Julia Stiles

...and I'm sure most would disagree, but Leonardo DiCaprio is right on the top of my list. Horrible, horrible actor. He emanates such an awful air of petulance in everything he does. I find it unbearable.

I disagree with Leo and Tom Cruise.

You gotta admit, he can deliver the line "WHOA!" pretty well.

Which actually makes him a better actor than Denise Richards.

Re: Movie Stars with No Talent?

I disagree with Tom Cruise, Leo DiCaprio, Stallone, Nic Cage, Adam Sandler. There's a difference in being in bad movies or not liking them personally but all of the actors I listed above have at least proved themselves in at least one or two movies.

That being said I nominate Freddie Prinze Jr and Vin Diesel.

Re: Movie Stars with No Talent?

Couldn't disagree more to whoever said DiCaprio was bad. The guy just keeps getting better with each film. "Blood Diamond" immediately comes to mind.

Add me to the list of the people who named Adam Sandler though. It's like fingers down a chalk board. Talk about painful.

There are plenty of actresses and actors who I do not like but I think have talent (ie: Julia Roberts, Will Smith, John Travolta, Nic Cage...). I have yet to see any evidence that Sandler or Stallone have any talent. Yes, it doesn't help that they also have been in mostly crappy films but that is only because non-talent seeks its own level.

How does he compare to Billy Bob Thornton, Woody Allen, Warren Beatty, and Matt Damon? They accomplished that too.

(Sling Blade, Annie Hall, Reds, Good Will Hunting)

Maybe Rockmjd23 was comparing Stallone's talent to the dead bodies of Welles and Chaplin. In that respect, yes he does have as much talent as those corpses

Jessica Biel

M. Night Shymalan (okay, not a movie star, but horrible actor).

Elisha Cuthbert (though her movie career has stalled).

Chad Michael Murray (horrible actor).

Julia Roberts won an Oscar for "Erin Brockovich." Awards mean nothing.

I meant they were the only two before him. You also missed Emma Thompson.

Re: Movie Stars with No Talent?

Megan Fox (as previously mentioned -- as hot as she is) and Vin Diesel. Both are terrible, TERRIBLE actors IMHO. I am not at all impressed.

I will defend Adam Sandler (for Punch-Drunk Love and Spanglish), Leonardo DiCaprio for pretty much everything he's done in the past decade, Tom Cruise (for several outstanding performances), and even Keanu Reeves (not a great actor but someone who DOES have talent - I think he was great in The Matrix, Constantine, and the Bill and Ted movies).
