Smokin' Aces 2: Blowback (2009)
I loved Smokin' Aces. I might be in the minority there, but I love movies like this and had a lot of fun with it. Looks like there's a Direct-to-DVD prequel coming out. Can't say I'm excited for it, but hopefully this will finally get the first one released on Blu-ray.

Alicia Keys' hotness was the only redeeming factor from the first one. The movie overall was a pile of shit.
I can only assume she is not going to be in this prequel? (The link is blocked here at work)

The first movie for me was weird. Its had certain aspects about it i loved, but a lot that was messy. The cinematography was pretty great. The idea was pretty good. The three goth-type assassins were pretty cool and funny. Alicia Keys was ok (her partner in the movie was just annoying though). Jeremy Piven was ok but his character just got progressively worse as the movie went on. His character needed to be more active and not just having his health deteriorate. Sofia Vergara is one reason to see the prequel....lets see if it has any other reasons.

Thank you. SA was a great flick that was tons of fun. I guess it's just one of those films that you either love or hate and the haters are out en force on this one. Whatever....
Anyway, I look forward to SA2
A minor Fix.
Frankly, I liked all the actors in this.

LOVE the first one. A really fun little flick. I'd be far more interested in a true sequel though.

I liked parts of the first one, like the thread with Alicia Keys and Common, and Jeremy Piven.
I'm not holding my breath over this DTV sequel, though.

I blind bought the first one on HD for $7 and I was pretty underwhelmed after all the hype I'd been reading. It was fun, mostly, but just too over the top and not enough of a good story. The ending was extremely predictable. I'll pass on this one.

@ all the hate for the original. What did you guys expect from it? It was a big budget over the top action film with a pretty good cast. Every film doesn't have to be Oscar worthy. This was one of those films to sit back & have fun with it. I was very impressed by the original, I loved it. I'm very interested in this prequel, too bad no one is really coming back for this except for Tommy Flanagan & Maury Sterling. I am happy with some of the new additions like Vinnie Jones, Tom Berenger, Michael Parks, & Autumn Reeser tho.
