This looks amazing. Hoepfully it's as good or better than Shark Attack 3 : Megalodon.

Poor Debbie Gibson (which is how I'll always remember her). How the teen pop stars of 20 years ago have fallen. At least my teen pop idol of yesteryear (a bit MORE than 20 years ago), Annette Funicello, never had to make movies like this. (And don't start trashing the BEACH PARTY movies--they were works of cinematic genius compared to dreck like this. Not that HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI couldn't have used a giant octopus.)

I can usually find some level of enjoyment with Asylum's films. I wish more of them were available on Netflix's Watch Instantly.

If anyone is interested, I got Deborah Gibson on the phone today to talk about "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus." The big news? There might be a sequel!

"I haven't seen the final edit, but we did do a version that leaves the door open for a potential sequel," Gibson revealed. "Because God knows what else is in the ocean. I thought maybe a seahorse? Maybe a 500-foot lobster would be good. But yes, there is the potential for a sequel, and I would absolutely love it."

This is going to be epic, I can't wait!
And the giant Seahorse gets my vote for the sequel; nobody ever suspects the Seahorse.

The trailer made it seem better. It was good fun but they used many shots over and over ... and over and over ... guess they have to with that sort of budget.
I'll take a sequel !

Different movie but I just had to post this somewhere.
Taken from rottentomatoes.com

We've already had Snakes on a Plane, so why not Sharks in a Mall? That's the premise for a new 3-D action adventure that was announced in Cannes this morning.
Highlander helmer Russell Mulcahy will write and direct the film, which has the most outlandish concept we've heard at the festival thus far.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be set in a coastal town where a freak tsunami floods and traps shoppers in a supermarket with an armed maniac and a pack of hungry tiger sharks that have been washed into the building.
Arclight Films and Limelight are producing, with Arclight's Gary Hamilton saying, "This will be a truly monstrous thriller and the first Australian feature in 3-D."
Bait is set to shoot on the Gold Coast later this year.

Stick with the trailer guys.
The movie flat out sucks. It's not even fun in a bad way. The script feels like it was written as the writer jerked off in a pile of his own filth. There's gotta be a stretch of at least 30 minutes where there's no shark or octopus action at all... it's just the three leads eating popcorn, mixing colored goo, and fucking in the locker room. Yes, while they're aware that there are super creatures roaming the seas eating ships, planes and bridges, they enjoy snacks and nookie.

I met Deborah Gibson when she performed on a cruise I was on a few years ago. She had an amazingly good voice. Ashame she is having to do this.
