hoping to see this movie on Saturday. I have a friend who wants to see it too but if she isen't willing to go for an early show than I'll just go see Orphan and Funny People. I love seeing two movies at the cinema in one day.

That's what uncles and aunts are for--to take kids to movies their parents won't.

Besides, how do you know the kids won't enjoy it? What, do you think all adolescents are lining up for G-FORCE? From the age of 7-14, I can count the number of children's films I saw in theaters on both hands. And most of those were Disney classics I was taking younger siblings to.

15 years old is fine to see it, but 5 and 9 year olds?? geez some parents are idiots, if I would have seen this when I was that young it would probably traumatize me

Movie doesn't look interesting to me. Looks like basic American horror that we've had for a long ass time...in fact I thought this was a remake cuz it gave me that remake vibe.

I think I may have to give this one a shot based on the mostly positive reviews. I already know the twist, but hopefully that won't ruin my enjoyment of the film.

You'll be surprised by how much knowing ahead of time helps in different ways.

Holy moly did I hate this. The first half hour had so much promise, but the descent into unbelievable garbage was torturous. Although it did have the first distinction of ever noticing a metallic 'swisher' sound while submerged in water, so that's something.

x1000000000000000

I am militant about anti-spoilers, but this would have helped my enjoyment exponentially to know how to approach the whole mess.

My sister takes my niece to R-rated movies all the time. She was happy I was taking her because she hates horror films but my niece wanted to see it.

I thought it was AWESOME, really enjoyed it, and I went in without knowing the twist. I will definitely check it out again on DVD.

Saw this tonight. I did go in knowing the twist and I found it definitely helped my enjoyment of it.

Apparently you guys that liked it aren't alone, movie only dropped 41.5% this last weekend which is fantastic for an R-rated horror flick.

Re: Orphan (Collet-Serra, 2009) — Farmiga & Sarsgaard in adoption horror-thriller

I agree with a few people on this thread. The first half hour to hour of this movie was good but then the movie delved into too much suspence. I was hoping more people would be killed. I thought the lack of creativity in killing people was lame as well. The twist took too long to get to, as did the climax. I did like the effect of the picture losing its color throughout - that made the climax more believable. Too many horror movies have way too much lighting to make them believable.

Saw this last night. Creepy as hell. Loved evey minute of it. The twist was pretty obvious. Will definitely buy this when it hits Bluray.

Anyone else think Isabelle Fuhrman would make a great Alma in a F.E.A.R. movie? She'd be perfect for that role.

Well, I've now had a couple of months to fully and properly digest this movie, and I must say... I still hate it. To each their own, per usual, but as far as I'm concerned, it's on a short list for Worst Movie of 2009.

Just saw this, what a ri-goddamn-diculous movie. Some of it is borderline classic .

It really does use every trick in the book, and not always well, but man is it entertaining. The lead girl did a fantastic job.

This is one f'ed up movie. I loved it . LOL at the at the real child protective services disclaimer at the beginning of the Blu-Ray, as if people actually think something like this could happen.

Depressingly, there was an outcry about this movie discouraging people from adopting before it was released.

Wow, that's pretty sad.
