Tom Hanks has won an MTV Movie Award and nominated for 12 more. Paul Rudd has only been nominated for 3 MTV Movie Awards and never won. So I see no comparison.

I think Paul Rudd is pulling more of a Leslie Nielson. Not that Paul Rudd's comedy is slapstick like Nielson. I mean that Nielson started as a serious actor and only got really famous by doing his comedies, sort of like what Paul Rudd is doing. I actually now look forward to Paul Rudd films. If he's in a film, I want to see it....

What serious movies has Paul Rudd been in? I can't think of any pre-Clueless (which seems to have mapped out his career). Or for that matter, many post-Clueless.

Yeah, looking at IMDB he has pretty much always been doing mostly comedy work, except for a few made for TV movies which he probably only had bit parts in anyway.
