Did You Contribute? — How many of 2008's hits did you see in theaters?
In 2008, we spent over $9.6 billion (and growing) at the box office. Now that almost every 2008 movie is out of theaters, I can ask this: How many of the biggest movies did you see in theaters?
For sake of brevity, let's look at the Top 20. Here they are: The Dark Knight Iron Man Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Hancock WALL-E Kung Fu Panda Twilight Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Quantum of Solace Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! Sex and the City Mamma Mia! Marley and Me The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Gran Torino The Incredible Hulk Wanted Get Smart The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Slumdog Millionaire For a %, simply multiply the movies you did see by five. I saw these in theaters: The Dark Knight Iron Man Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Hancock WALL-E Kung Fu Panda Twilight Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Quantum of Solace Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! Sex and the City Mamma Mia! I did see many movies in 2008, but many of them I didn't pay for, so I'm not too sure how much I contributed. In any case, here are the ones I attended in the theatre.

I saw 50% and Gran Torino is the only one out of the other 10 that I wish I had.

Out of that list, I only saw Iron Man, The Dark Knight (twice), and The Incredible Hulk. But I saw about 8 movies in theaters last year, and all of them were free (either free, advanced screenings, or free tickets). What can I say, I'm .. err .. frugal.

Only saw TDK, Iron Man and Indy, and the last 2 I saw the same night at the Drive-In by us which is only $8/person on first run films so not a bad price at all.

In don't go to the theatres often... so only 2. The Dark Knight and Slumdog Millionaire. Other than those, I've only seen Cloverfield, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Zack and Miri and Milk in theatres this year (although I may be missing one).
I saw Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Wanted on DVD. I plan on seeing Wall E, Gran Torino and Benjamin Button eventually. |

Of the Top 20, the only one I saw theatrically was The Dark Knight.
Only other flicks I saw at the theater in 2008 were The Strangers and Zack and Miri Make A Porno. |
