Re: KILL BILL. That's a tricky vote. I liked KBV1 more than RESERVOIR DOGS, but I liked RESERVOIR DOGS more than KBV2. But I liked KBV1 so much more than DOGS that I chose to vote for KB.

I consider Kill Bill to be one movie, divided into two parts. That is why I voted for Kill Bill as a whole and not one part or the other.

THE DIRTY DOZEN is quite easily the best film on that list. What's the matter, have all of you LEBOWSKI fans not even seen Robert Aldrich's masterpiece?

LOTR: FOTR -- Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a classic in its own right but I like LOTR much better.
Not a big fan of the Goonies but 2001, while an excellent movie, is something that I've only see once and have no desire to ever see again.
I can watch Lebowski everyday.
Surprised that Kill Bill is winning over Resevoir Dogs.

The Goonies vs 2001 looks to be the only competitive matchup of the 4. I thought Reservoir Dogs was gonna keep it close, but Kill Bill has been on a run.
The winner of LOTR: Fellowship and TCM has te distinct pleasure of facing #1 overall Pulp Fiction in Round #2.

I have elected to cast no votes in these match-ups because, sad though it may be, I have not seen both choices of any of these four rounds.
Also, I would be interested in knowing just how Kill Bill is considered one film split into two parts whilst The Lord of the Rings is not counted as one film divided into three, especially since Tolkien himself regarded the tale as a singular story. Alas, it is not my thread and I don't mean to quibble.
Final thought: I hereby nominate the ability to drink white russians with chicks as the official tie-breaking criteria for all "either/or" polls henceforth.

LOTR
2001
Kill Bill
ashamed to admit that I've never seen Big Lebowski or Dirty Dozen yet, tho both are on my "to-see" list. Therefore, no vote on that match-up.

This is not really a great list.
No Godfather or Star Wars movies?

Like BrewCrew said this is only the first 8 movies out of 98 that qualified. Also some of the top(and by top I mean most supported on the selection lists) movies earned byes in Round #1. All the big guns like Star Wars and the Godfather will be active in Round #2.

How many days does everyone think I should leave these polls open? There are 63 votes in with nearly 2 days left. Do you think 2 days would be enough?

Yes. Otherwise this is going to take forever and you run the risk of people losing interest like LOST because of all the long breaks.

Ring - Even just the one part of the trilogy is better than TCM.
Goonies - As a few others have said, 2001 is a bore.
Dozen - One of the greatest action films ever made. Never got the love of Lebowski.
Dogs - I like KB too, but it's a wee bit overdone.
