First order of business: Amanda Seyfried. Vanessa Hudgens. Abbie Cornish. Evan Rachel Wood. This movie is on fucking fire, if you know what I mean.

Hudgens is somebody who I think can break through her High School Musical vibe, this will more than do it. The other three actresses are quite fitting.

Coming out October 8, 2010, it's Snyder's first original screenplay, centered around "a girl (Seyfried) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man." It's also set in the 1950's.

It's toted as a hard-R "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns," and other assorted elements that aren't family-friendly. The way this is going, it sounds like Pan's Labyrinth meets Heavy Metal masked as some sort of freakazoid bizarro Brad Bird film. And it's just skyrocketed on my movies to watch list.

I'm a bit hesitant. Typically nothing good comes from mental patient movies...One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest being the only exception.

Vanessa Hudgens is my main woman, but this sounds like a bunch of other movies wrapped in to one. I wonder with the mediocre Watchmen returns if this is still getting a release in October 2010?

Amanda Seyfried was replaced with Emily Browning; apparently Big Love/HBO couldn't or wouldn't schedule around the movie.

This sounds like it has potential, and I'm a big fan of Snyder's as I feel he is on a serious hot streak, but I recall reading that WB execs want him to tone this down to a PG-13 after the Watchmen debacle. I really hope that isn't true because this sounds pretty rad.

I read something that said Vanessa Hudgens hinting at how kids wouldn't be able to see her in it. I'm assuming that even if WB has to put up with an R rating, it'll make a killing on DVD/Blu-ray/iTunes like Watchmen has been doing.

I like most of the girls I see in those posters but I hate Zack Snyder. :(

I definitely want Jamie Chung (Amber) :drool: and whoever's the girl in the first poster (Sweet Pea). :drool: However, this is the first time I've ever found Vanessa Hudgens (Blondie) attractive. :up:

Looks like something along the lines of Bitch Slap!, which really isn't that good of a thing if you want anything more than jiggly women bouncing all over the screen.

It's about a group of girls in a looney bin who retreat into a fantasy work where they're badass super heroes. "Sense" is bound to be in short supply.

But, seriously, flow isn't one of Zack Snyder's strengths. Lavish production design, endless repetition of a handfull of the same cool shots and excessive slo-mo are his strengths (or weaknesses in the case of the latter two).

So just enjoy the eye candy and don't expect it to flow all too well. Just maybe this'll be like Watchmen that was good despite Snyder.
