That's true about the tone, brain fart there. But i'm still curious how unique or true to their comic book counterparts the costumes will be.

Tom Hardy is already a familiar face.

Okay man whatever you say. I stated an opinion, just because you're a blind fanboy who accepts anything put in front of you doesn't mean we all have to do the same.

Will Smith is Deadshot? Well, it makes sense since Deadshot is the lead. Can Jai Courtney do a passable Australian accent?

Besides Zoe all of those actors are supporting cast...Vin worked as a day player. Cooper does a voice dub. The rest a few minutes on film tops. You make it sound like they got top billing and carried the movie.

I was only replying to say SQ should've gone with no-name actors along the lines of GotG but that one had some names attached as well. Outside of Will Smith, the rest of the cast isn't that well known (among the general audience). I doubt people realize Hardy even played Bane unless you told them (since he was bald and wearing a mask through the entire movie).

If I had any trepidation, it's, as others mention, that it's the follow-up to BvS (and technically third movie in the DCU after MOS). Seems like it should've come out after, or maybe in between, the two Justice League movies and have some kind of tie-in (which I wonder if this will in some fashion, but knowing Warner, doubtful they're thinking that far ahead).

Why would DC/WB start with logic now?

Interesting cast. I'll see it for Smith alone. Always like him, even if the movie is bad.

That's what I was getting at...DC is using a big name to sell Suicide Squad and Marvel did not with GoTG. GoTG had big names attached to it but it wasn't advertised. SQ with be advertised as a Will Smith movie. You have to be naive to think otherwise.

Yeah, it does seem kind of odd, that the third DCCU film is going to be a super villain team-up. The plot, that they're seeking redemption, implies that there's already a lot backstory in the films.

Also seems weird to introduce the Joker in a non-Batman movie.

And what kind of team is going to include the Joker? He's the ultimate loose cannon, insanity and chaos personified. He's the type who would betray his team just to amuse himself.

I'm really curious as to what the overall picture the DCCU is trying to paint. Right now it just seems like they're throwing a bunch of shit at the wall to see what sticks.

Re: Suicide Squad (2016, Ayer) S: Smith, Hardy, Leto, Robbie

I'm sure they'll take the Batman: Assault on Arkham approach and the Joker will be an antagonist and not a member of the Suicide Squad.

I never saw Assault on Arkham, but I just assumed Joker would not be part of the Suicide Squad, but rather he would just be in the movie as part of Harley's backstory/origin.
