I was betting that if Rourke takes Best Actor, this is Milk's consolation prize.

Are they going to take this long with every award? I only padded the DVR 30-minutes.

Considering the obesity rate in Middle America, that's probably a good thing. :D

Good to see Tina Fey getting a little extra airtime... she gets so little exposure these days...

so they show clips for screenplay nominees but not the supporting actress award?!? Love the changes made to the show!

Well, I like the award choice if for no other reason a normal, understated, brief acceptance speech that didn't need to make a political statement.

Re: The 81st Academy Awards — 2008 Awards Show Discussion.

I'm a little confused by all the presenters. Jack Black and Jennifer Aniston now?

Granted, I think the last Academy Awards show I watched was in 1998 when Billy Crystal hosted it with Titanic winning, but it seems odd they have all of these actors presenting these awards.

Re: The 81st Academy Awards — 2008 Awards Show Discussion.

Ouch. Jennifer Anniston that close to Brad and Angelina.

Also, responded to this in another thread, but if five former winners come out to announce all the acting, it's going to be a lonnnnnnng night.

Wow. Not a one of those animated features has a rating above 'PG'. How sad.

DGibFen 02-22-09 08:06 PM

Re: The 81st Academy Awards — 2008 Awards Show Discussion.

Wow, when you look at all of the major animation films that came out this year in that montage, you have to wonder... there were 3 possible films to nominate this year?
