Oh so you're the person who those ridiculous ADD-oriented action movie trailers are aimed at.

Even though most don't care for the film, it's nice to see Danny Boyle get more exposure to the mainstream audience. Well, the three people still watching this show.

No shock for Best Director.

I hope Langella wins it. Don't feel bad for Rourke. He will forget this whole evening by the morning.

I am forced to agree with this. IMO none of the nominated films were all that good, although I think Frost/Nixon was probably the best of a bad lot.

The only possible redeeming factor that this awards show has left for me is to have Mickey Rourke on stage.

Danny Boyle wins! Well earned, not watching though :D.

Conversely, the director of The Beach won an Oscar. Oh boy.

And I'll just get this started.

Seems like we have similar tastes ABC...definitely thought The Wrestler should have been nominated and I think In Bruges should have won for best picture.

Sadly, I was afraid you were going to say this - this is unacceptable. How in good conscious can you vote for something when you haven't seen some or all of the other nominees!?!

It boggles the mind. I simply can not understand how this is not required to vote.

it be funny if they actually had to use the 7 second delay on rourke

Slumdog 7
Button 3
TDK 2
Everything else 1

If Penn wins, that will only give 4 movies multiple Oscars. ouch.

Again, I don't think it's 'most' at all, just the vocal minority. The split I've seen/read on Slumdog was at least 90% positive before this thread, there's always a backlash against a quasi-sweep.

That shot of Paul Newman readying for the pool shot in Color of Money and then it morphing into him hitting it in The Hustler was the shizzzz.

Also Heston and Scheider should've gotten more applause.

If Mickey wins I'll remember the 80s fondly and go to sleep. The 80s sucked btw.

I would love to see Rourke do the Ram Slam (or was it Jam?) back to his front row seat!
