I haven't read all 14 pages. But, Dark Knight not nominated for Best Picture and losing awards it should have won is the reason the Academy Awards ratings keep going down. A movie does over a billion in box office and nothing.

I think it's in part because at one point it was the cute upstart film...and now that it's winning (or will win) a bunch of awards, it now must be compared against all past movies that have won a bunch of awards and somehow the other films will be 'debased'.

It was a weak year for great movies, so I have no real major issues, except... cinematography?

If they based nominations on TV ratings, movies like Mall Cop & Mamma Mia would be up for Best Picture. ;)

I liked Slumdog a lot, but not best film of '08. I liked TDK, Gran Torino, and The Wrestler much better.. and a bunch of some other movies that would never got nominated for anything.

But Beyoncι is looking good. :drool:
