Most people can't stand Madonna. You should be used to this by now. Why, Chelsea Handler spent five minutes on her show last night talking about this very subject. Madonna wanting to act again. Obviously, I meant to say the reason I like her is because of her music.

Will Smith may be an actor, but, it doesn't mean he's a good one. Also, he's not a singer, but, he's done that, as well.

You're wrong when you say, "Most people can't stand Madonna". That is the most ridiculous statement, when the facts are there to show that Madonna is a very popular and successful entertainer. If most people couldn't stand her, then she wouldn't be popular and successful. Of course, people who don't like her are blind to that fact, because they live in a bubble where they believe everyone agrees with their point of view.

Oh, and Chelsea Handler? Who is that? I can assure you, I could care less what she, or her audience, feel about Madonna.

She still has a huge fanbase, that can't be denied, but as far as universal mainstream popularity I don't think she is anywhere near what she was in 1985 or even 1995. There are quite a few people, like it or not, who feel she has sort of 'worn out her welcome' in the public spotlight, between the baby antics and the kaballah and everything else.

You can argue that she doesn't 'deserve' to get bashed, but that's part of being famous. Look at Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, George Bush, Miley Cyrus, Sarah Palin, Paris Hilton, hell, even the octuplet mom. It comes with the territory.

I'm by no means saying she is a good actress, but saying that Evita required no acting whatsoever seems unfair. with Madonna it seems like with the right script and the right director she can pass off as adequate. Not exactly praise, but certainly not worth all of the venom coming from this thread. And the "she's just playing herself" bit is lame, because one could make the argument that Mariah Carey was playing herself in Glitter, and that performance was worse than anything Madonna has ever done.

Meantime, this rumor from weeks ago about Madonna getting a cameo in some crapfest for pre-teen girls which poped up again this week has now been laid to rest:

Summit Entertainment are said to have no plan in casting Madonna in 'New Moon', but the 'Miles Away' songstress might contribute to the soundtrack.

Madonna may not be seen in "New Moon" after all. Citing on a source close to the production, Entertainment Weekly reported contrary to the circulating rumors suggesting that Madonna will make an appearance in the"Twilight" sequel, Summit Entertainment have no plans in bringing the "Evita" star into the project.

Though slamming the casting rumor, the trade hinted on the possibility of her making a contribution to the sequel's soundtrack. "However, because Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, is a producer on the project, there is some talk of her providing songs for the sequel," EW's report read. Still, it should be noted that no deals have been set in stone so far on the matter.

Usually people looking to discredit Evita will say Madonna was playing herself, but Daytripper saved that for Desperately Seeking Susan. That Evita had no acting in it, that's certainly one I haven't heard before.

Movies? You're getting way ahead of yourself. Even if she were a fantastic actress her age and her celebrity would have put a stop to her acting for the most part at this point. I don't know what offends you so much about a cameo or makes you think she's going to be staring in movies. Maybe getting news from comedians is not a good idea? This whole topic is rediculous.
