Re: Stallone says Rambo will return soon
I absolutley loved the new rambo, and honestly, I kind of think if he does a fifth one, it should be in America. I think it would really round out the story and kind of tie it all back in full-circle. This is a great idea.

Re: Stallone says Rambo will return soon
I'm sorry if I don't have an appreciation for bad writing, bad acting, bad direction and silly special effects-the bad cgi on all the exploding heads, etc. And Stallone himself-what a creepfest-his HGH enlarged head is the scariest thing I saw all year.

Re: Stallone says Rambo will return soon
This is the way I do things.
I like to watch movies. CHECK.
I go out of my to watch the really good ones. CHECK.
I have no bias as to subject matter. CHECK
I can sift my critique on films by categorizing it by genre or as a whole . CHECK
I watched Punisher: War Zone and liked it. CHECK.
Now I liked War Zone cuz it was crazy violence and action that was what the comic had. Plus Ray Stevenson was THE Punisher we've waited for. He wasn't a pussy or emotional, the man was pissed and he was kicking ass. Now the plot wasn't all that hot. In fact it was generic. I do hope for a Sequel, though...I have no hopes based on it's box office. As a film, it's mediocre not even that high on the scale of 5. Maybe a 3 at most. BUT as an action film, it's ranking is probably 4.
Now I'm wishy washy as to whether I really liked Rambo or not. I hated the Missionaries...I hated the crappy cgi blowing off of limbs. I thought the action was good, Stallone's message about Burma was very hamfisted. At it's most it's a 3 1/2. NOW as an action film of an established action franchise..it's a 4.

Rambo takes on white slavery and the drug trade.
BRING THIS MOTHERFUCKER ON.
John Rambo's officially readying for a fifth mission.
Nu Image/Millennium Films has greenlit the franchise's fifth installment, with Sylvester Stallone starring and directing, repeating his duties from 2008's "Rambo."
The upcoming project's storyline revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border. Production will start in the spring.
The film will be produced by Avi Lerner, Kevin King Templeton and John Thompson. Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson will exec produce.
Stallone had indicated in interviews that a fifth Rambo was in the works. He teamed with Nu Image/Millennium on the 2008 project, which grossed $42 million domestically and $113 million overseas.
Nu Image/Millennium is in post-production on "Expendables," starring Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke. The actioner's set for release on April 23 through Lionsgate.
Rambo first appeared in the 1982 pic "First Blood," followed in 1985 by "First Blood II" and in 1988 by "Rambo III."

Isn't that the plot of one of the rejected scripts for the last movie?

Great news. The Independent Study I did on Rambo in college becomes farther outdated.
I texted the news to a friend:
him: "Who is on the other end of Rambo's knife this time? Russia, China?
me: "Mexicans"

Stallone mentioned in the extras for Rambo, that the Mexico plot was mentioned as a plot for the fourth movie. I hope he expands the idea and it makes a great movie.

Okay so I'm not crazy. If I recall correctly, he said he dumped the idea because it didn't make sense for Rambo to be back on American soil yet. They needed a reason to get him back. So I'm guessing this one will pick up moments after the last one.

Re: Stallone says Rambo will return soon
I dunno. That plot sounds really crappy. I'm iffy with the whole concept on it. I'd love to see a new one but....c'mon...I can only imagine what kind of fucking shit prelude there is to the meat of the "story"

I want to see Rambo fight crackheads in NYC. That would be cool. Sorta like a Death Wish, except he's really Rambo, came from the jungles, and is roaming the streets with a blow torch with camouflage and cops can't catch him.
Maybe Rambo VI: Streets Of Blood

Rambo is Rambo. You can place that man in middle America and still have a fucking epic bloodfest.

Rambo was good. 'Too short to hate' is how I like to put it. The story mattered (on it's own level). It was quick, obscenely violent and fun.
Rocky Balboa felt short, too.
Walking Tall was another one that was quick. You sit down, you get into the movie a good bit and then you get up and leave.
