Best David Fincher movie?
What David Fincher movie is his best, or your personal favorite?

Re: Candid Camera
Is there no way to edit the thread title? It was a mistake on my part.

And away we go!

Re: Candid Camera
Cool thread. I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on it and was pleasantly surprised.
My vote goes to Se7en. I love the dialogue in that movie: "Just because the fucker has a library card, doesn't make him Yoda" "DETECTIVE!" "What's in the box?" and of course... "Ernest Hemingway once wrote 'the world is a fine place and worth fighting for' I agree with the second part" |

Seven

Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Fight Club by far.

Re: Best David Fincher movie?
The guy makes such great movies. Fight Club is my favorite, maybe not his best but I think they're all pretty close. So I voted for FC.
1. Fight Club 2. Seven 3. Zodiac 4. The Game 5. Panic Room 500. Alien 3 I haven't seen Benjamin Button yet. |
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
1. Fight Club
2. Zodiac 3. Se7en 4. The Game Haven't seen Benjamin Button yet, no interest in seeing Alien 3 or Panic Room. |
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Zodiac is his best, and Fight Club is his most entertaining.

1. Zodiac (the DC adds so little but it makes it so much better I think) 2. Se7en 3. Fight Club 4. The Game 5. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button |

Re: Best David Fincher movie?
I don't think anyone can positively count Alien 3 as a part of his works. I mean...yes, that was his first film but there's a point to which a film is no longer at all your control and you're just a tool of sorts. I mean...Fox fucked him over really really bad. For the sake of this, here's my list:
Zodiac Se7en Fight Club The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Panic Room The Game Alien 3 |
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
1. Fight Club
2. Seven 3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 4. Zodiac: Director's Cut 5. Alien 3 (Workprint Version) 6. Panic Room 7. The Game |

Because 20th Century Fox took control of Alien³ away from Fincher, to me it's not his film. |
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Fight Club. Although I really liked Zodiac.

Zodiac
|
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Can't talk about it.
|
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Se7en.
|
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
For a long time I would have said Fight Club, but after seeing both again recently for the first time in a while, I found Se7en resonated with me more. The Game is a close third. Still need to grow into Zodiac.

Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Voted Fight Club.
And I like Alien 3. I think it's better than the first two Alien movies. |
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
I hate all of his films, especially fight club. fincher along with tarantino are the most overrated directors of their generation, and maybe alltime.
|
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
Top Three:
1. Se7en 2. Fight Club 3. Benjamin Button |
Re: Best David Fincher movie?
I'm really going to have to see Zodiac again. I saw it in theaters and thought it it was a little tedious. I thought a few minutes could have been trimmed here and there throughout. I've heard the DC is an improvement but I'm afraid it'll be even more tedious.
Of course, after all the praise I've heard about it I'm wondering if I need to give it another shot. Oh, and so as not to go too far off topic I voted for Se7en. Great atmospheric thriller. So atmospheric in fact that I'm drained after seeing it (in a good way). I can only watch it about once a year. Fight Club has an amazing first 2/3. IMO though, it completely falls apart in the final Act. |
