will they ever remake ROOTS for the big screen?
The 1970's miniseries was very good, but it has its flaws - for instance, the african native women had tan lines around their breasts.
While the TV miniseries was shocking for "its time" (the use of the N-word, naked women, blatant slavery and the brutality it entailed), I definitely feel they held back on just how evil the white people were, and how awful the whole situation was. Since Hollywood is on a remake-kick, might as well remake TV miniseries, and this one would be a winner, if made right. |

The series still holds up very well. No need for a movie version.

I watched it again last year and it holds up. I don't care about tan lines, don't remake.
