Re: Name As Many Movies As You Can That You've Seen in Theaters

I could start naming them but I'd be here all day. Up until I was 12, there was an old single screen movie theater just down the street from me so I'd see a ton of movies. Later in my teenage years, I used to spend all my free time at the local multiplex that had replaced the old theater. I'd say the total count for movies seen theatrically would be well up into the hundreds, if not more.

I have been watching movies for almost 40 years. This would be an exercise in futility. What is the point of this thread, anyway? Not all of us save our ticket stubs....

I don't have them from my childhood, but I used to keep my stubs once I started going by myself as a teen to movies. I have an Excel file in which I've tracked them, too. Quit rolling your eyes and being snotty about not having kept stubs from 40+ years of movie-going, and let those who do enjoy compiling this kind of thing have their thread.

<--- another one who's been going to the theaters/drive-ins for 40 years. Back then you'd have double and triple features. No way I'd be able to make a halfway decent list.

Not trying to be snotty...just don't see the point. Well, have at it, then. I'll look at other threads that I find more interesting. Enjoy!

I've thought about trying to do this, along with bands I've seen live, but I think it would be impossible.

I'll chalk this up to another one of those threads where half the people don't read the beginning of the initial post, then just assume everything else so they can find reason to bitch and complain.

So you don't find this thread interesting.. yet you click on it anyway, don't read the first post, then complain and act like that. Awesome.
Without looking at ticket stubs (if you collect them - I do), how many movies can you name off the top of your head that you remember seeing in theaters?
Obviously you don't read.

It would be exhaustive to list all the movies I've seen. Countlless I should say.

Obviously you don't read.
Actually, I do find this thread interesting. I'm sorta shocked at how few movies some people have seen in the theater. In my family, it has always been a pastime.

If you reread my post, you'll notice I wasn't poo-pooing the thread, I just couldn't imagine the time it would take for me to compile my own list.

I've lost track of all the movies I've seen in theaters, but the first one I do remember was Jailhouse Rock. I must have been about seven and it was in a small theater in Louisville KY.

Damn...am I like the youngest guy here? I'm 22, saw Surburban Commando when it came out so I was 5 in '91.
