"My Bloody Valentine" (2009) suffers from the same issues. It looked great in 3D on the big screen (I'm bragging here, but watching that movie sitting next to Atkins was fucking epic), but once I watched it in 2D on BD, the effect on the film itself made it look like a soap opera.

I only saw it on BD and, though I enjoyed it, I know exactly what you mean.

By the way, I hate to ask but... Who's Atkins? And I'm sure you don't mean the deceased diet doctor.

Anybody who dislikes Eli Roth (which, going by other threads, is roughly 95% of DVDTalk) should make it a point to watch that footage.

A few of those CGI effects were simply godawful, but overall that was some awesomely gory footage!

Re: Alexandre Aja to remake "Piranha" in 3-D

from what I've read in magazines, the end massacre is a 25 minute bloodbath (pardon the pun) Aja delivers the hardcore gore, something that Roger Corman wanted in the original film, but Dante didn't really deliver - let's hope the MPAA was merciful and didn't cut the film for it's R-rating. As I recall this movie might have amassed the highest amount of theatrical blood for an entire movie - some 7,000+ (!) gallons of it.

Awesome clip. Unfortuantely it will absolutely be cut to shit before the theatrical release. I'm waiting for the inevitable unrated Blu.

some footage (quite a bit) from the Piranha flick. VERY gory, some nudity so this is definitely NSFW...

I wasn't going to see this but it might be fun in 3D w/ a packed audience.
god dammit. me being tired as shit, i put in the wrong age and now it won't let me view the footage . would me signing off and on reset the settings?

Do try closing and re-opening your browser but it's got to be a cookie so unless you can find the exact cookie in your browser's files, you will have to erase all your cookies.

You could also download a new browser just to watch the trailer.

Well AFAIK Machete hasn't been rated yet, so I guess that one might still be cut too.

Re: Alexandre Aja to remake "Piranha" in 3-D

as of last night, the TV spots for 'Piranha 3D' had a 'this film is yet not rated' - hope it's not running into MPAA trouble.

Oh, him! Sorry. I recognize him on sight. For some reason I never knew his name. My bad.

Looks alright. Still not 'on board', though (get it?).

More than anything, it was nice to see those spring-breakers get theirs.

The trailers on TV look cheesy and dumb, but that clip has me looking forward to seeing it.

It features Kelly Brook naked. Like you need another reason?

I hope the CGI looks better on screen than it does in the trailers.

I know I feel the same way!

I am going to see more movies in August in the theaters than all the rest of the summer.
